Jaggman and I spent a day in the SUN on this past Sunday. Man was it HOT. We had an assortment from large to small of DW's along. Jaggman got to zero in the 445SM he had just gotten recently. now it will take down a whitetail at 50-yards no problem.
We also spent some time dialing in the 414SM I just put a Leupold on top of.
Jaggman with the 414:
We had the 357 Supermag to the range for a sampling of rounds as well. It performed flawlessly as always. The 375SM took its turn too with a few new loads sporting the 200 grain sierra bullets. That worked well, I'll have to try more of those. Jaggman had his new 22WMR out to test, had a few issues to work out, that just means more range time down the road, not all bad. There were .38's .357 Mag's.44 special's and .44 Magnums down that range too. Did I mention it was HOT!
By the way check out those shirts Great design guys, but Jaggman and I thought they look better from the back, you know we were all sweaty and all, did I mention it was HOT?
I even took the Palmer 414SM for a day out and both Jaggman and I left a few 210 Grain Remington soft points backed by AA-1680 go down that range in a hurry. The gun worked great, had one sticky case, but that was all. I'll let Jaggman share his point of view on the day in his report. I did get to shoot my DWF August match on Sunday. DW22 performed the rimfire and used the Magnum Research 475 Linebaugh shooting 375 grain Cast Performance handloads for the centerfire target :
I suppose I mentioned it was hot, but what a terrific day with a great friend all because of the DWF. "It just doesn't get any better than this".

Did SMF mention that it was HOT?
Anyway it was a great time with my new friend thanks to the DWF. You never know what will come your way. He and his family couldn't have been nicer to me.
We made several trips carrying our arsenal of guns and ammo out to the firing line and got down to business. I can say we were the most heavily armed shooters on the line. Not the most aggressive compared to the lady shooting rapid fire 9MM when we arrived. Don't want to meet her in a dark alley.
I was introduced to the BIG DW's courtesy of SFM. Overwhelmed is more accurate. Of the 357SM, 375SM, 414SM, 445SM, and that pitiful 475 Linebaugh (right ) I liked the 357SM best of all. Don't know why but just did. The 475 kicks just a bit.

We shot some of my hand loads, 38 special, 357 Mag, 44 special and 44 Mag. The 357 with the 158g RNFP laser cast lead with HP38 were weak, and very dirty powder. The 38 special with the same bullet and powder were much better with only .6 g less powder. Ill have to try 2400 in the 357 mag next time, and also I have to get some .38 JHP bullets to try. These were my first hand loads so I do have much to learn. The 44 specials with Hornady 180g / 2400 powder and Mags with Speer 240g JHP / 2400 powder shot very well.
As SMF mentioned I tried my newly acquired 22 Mag and it was all over the place, even appeared that some of the bullets were tumbling. I was using CCI 22WMR JHP 40 g. Have to get out to the range this week and try some other ammo in it. Keith at CZ mentioned leading in the barrel, worn barrel, or a damaged barrel crown, so if I can't get better performance I'll be shipping it to CZ in Norwich. Maybe it was just too HOT!
We gave another guy on the line some 357 Mags who had a newly acquired 357 but purchased 357 Sigs for it. He said they didn't fit in his gun. Good thing he asked about it.
So I'd post some pics here but SMF did a good job of that. Thought he'd post some more of himself but I guess he's camera shy. It was hot and we were sweaty. The DWF shirts looked right at home on the range. I have to order some more in different colors.
This was definitely a Sunday in PA and the range is in great shape. Wish I lived closer. Now to find a silhouette range! And I don't know how you guys hit anything at 200 meters; it must be magic!
Can't wait for another shooting match.

I'd rather roast to death that freeze to death, bring on the heat!
Ok, so I guess that having sweat dripping down your face while you try to eyeball a target can be a bit of a nuisance.Great range report guys, it sounds like a good time for sure. SMF, I see that .475 has a small amount of recoil, eh? Big 'ol BANG!

Very nice range report! It's great to meet others in person, who share the same interests online, or in a forum like ours. We have done that on Specialty Pistols for the last 4 years, an annual get-together at my range. It is a blast, pun intended!
Nice that you got all the SuperMags out, even the Palmer .414, which is a WAY COOL gun. How did you like the recoil on that .445SM Jaggman? It does get your attention, but not quite like that .475 Limburger
Love the shirts...they look great! Only one thing was missing from that report. We have no idea what the weather was like there. Was it hot? Cold?

Jagg-do you have another barrel to try with the .22WMR? I don't have a DW .22WMR but do have a SW m48 6" and it is a tack driver (really seems to like S&B ammo but does well with others including CCI). I hate to say it but it sounds like more than an finicky ammo problem. Good luck with it.

perhaps a sweat soaked t shirt photo for the calendar???
Would need a lady forum member for that.
SMF…I asked Keith about the barrel interchange with the 22LR and he said they are the same so it would work.
IHMSA…the 445SM is a puppy compared the the Linebaugh, well maybe not a puppy but there is a noticeable difference. I could definitely feel the sore hand after the Linebaugh.
SMF congrats on your 800th post also...
