Exactly.
The Presentation grips are smooth, while the Gripper grips have finger grooves on the front. Both styles are actually quite comfortable, IMO.
Also, regarding the small frame ones, there are two sizes of Presentation grips, small & large. There isn't much size difference between the two. I'm not sure if there's two sizes of Grippers, so far.

Why are these rubber grips called ( Pachmayr- Dan Wesson Presentation Grip )
what does Presentation mean? Did they come with a pistol pac or are they after market stuff.
Thanks
They are aftermarket, but at least the Pachmayr "Gripper" were sometimes included in a pistol pack WITH the DW logo on it. I have not seen any Presentation grips with the DW logo ... although I have both Presentation grips with ans without the round Pachmayr "lions head" logo.
I do like the Presentation grip though its a little small. I like the Hogue monogrip much better than the gripper.
There was a thread that Jody started with grips... but I cant find it now.
Here's a link to my collection which has pictures of: Gripper ( with and without DW logo) Hogue and Presentation grip.

I've used Pachs on most of the centerfire handguns I own at one time or another. I have a Gripper on the 715 3H I carry some now. I like them for shooting but not for carrying concealed. They are soft enough to hang up on clothes when you try to bring them out from a concealed position. A horizontal shoulder holster makes it a little easier and I use one for this DW.
I do have some like them - Uncle Mike's "Boot Grips" - on my Model 60 Smith I carry a lot. Exact same material. The backstrap is exposed and they are very slim and small. The hand covers them almost completely so they don't really contact the clothes.
Mostly for ccw I use some sort of smooth grip of a hard material. The DW "combat" grip actually is very nice.
I also have never seen a Gripper with the DW logo. I would love to have 'em if they exist.
Anyone know of a good "fanny pack" either actually a holster or one that could work as a gun pouch that isn't the basic black nylon? Nothing screams "I have a gun!" quite like a Galco or Uncle Mike's in black! I'd love to try something in blue or yellow or even red and sew some sort of non-gun patches on it.

The Presentation grips are simply a standard full size (or slightly smaller) grip in the same style as the DW Target grip. The Gripper is a combat style grip and much less commonly seen.
Both of these grips have been produced with a DW medallion, they are pretty uncommon. Be aware that on GB and ebay you will see "DW Presentation" or "Gripper" grips which will FIT the DW's, but are likely not DW medallioned items. Buyer beware!
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
