Please see update, below, at #18.

With the recent thread on grippers, I thought we might be able to send the message to Pachmayer. I sent the following, this AM:
http://crm.lymanproducts.com/open.php

Help Topic: Product Availability Inquiries
Subject: Dan Wesson Grippers

Is it possible to make a run of these awesome grips? The Dan Wesson Grippers always command a high price on the auction sites. I sure would like to see a reasonably priced new set.

Best Regards,
Ron

And a reply. Need more folks to join in. Maybe we can get some traction?

I got essentially the same reply with a different number of course.  There is power in numbers, if we can flood them with requests maybe they will realize there is a market here.

I got the same reply also. The more that ask the better the odds they might make a run.

I'm for it, but also how about making them for large frames.

I think that a series of e-mails (maybe a dozen or so?) will get lost in the intricacies of Customer Service at Pachmayr. There was a time that the Members of the Dan Wesson Forum, the Authority on Dan Wesson Revolvers, petitioned CZ as a group, a single entity, with a single clear statement of our hopes regarding the new Dan Wesson revolver. It does not seem that our message to CZ was heard in it's entirety, but a substantial number of Members (people that buy Dan Wessons) put their names on that message.

Individual emails may not have the impact that a request from a body of shooters (buyers???) with a single, coherent message might. Perhaps we need a group effort, and by the way,

I live about two miles from Lyman in Middletown, CT. wow

Your emails and phone calls are coming almost into my backyard! If we're serious about this, I'm very happy to make a personal contact.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I'm in; I'd like to get about three. I just don't know the logistics of "signing" a letter via email.

1) Any action taken by DWF needs to be approved by the Forum Admin.

2) A Statement of Position is drafted ("The Members of Dan Wesson Forum request and encourage the re-introduction of the the Pachmayr Gripper for the Dan Wesson revolvers...")

3) Members willing to "sign" the letter provide their Name, City/State, and email information to be "signed" on the Statement of Position. The actual name/location/email info would not be published, but included with the letter.

4) The document is delivered to Lyman/Pachmayr

This is the process we followed with CZ a couple of years ago. Something like this needs more than half a dozen names on it. Are there 20-30 people here that want in?

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I'll take two for small frame and at least two for a large frame.

It would be cool if they could do a custom  medallion, either Dan Wesson or

DWF maybe?  Probablly wishful thinking.

I guess we should start the Gripper petition thread and "stick" it for a period of time to see if there's any traction, if Jody were to approve.

Was there ever a Large Frame Gripper?

I'll touch base with Jody to see how he feels about a project like this.

As I said, I can work on this sometime after the first week in December, and I believe I can dig up a contact locally at Lyman (everyone who works there lives probably within half an hour of me).

All of this would be predicated on Pachmayr still having the molds, I think.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Soooo....   After some converstation by a friend who attended the SHOT show; it seems as though this is "do-able" but a run of 300 or more is required.  I think we may need to seriously consider a group buy and advertise.  In order to get the required number, I think we should limit ourselves to the small frame.  I'm a member of several forums and can point those interested to the group buy on the DWF.

Thoughts?????

Do you know what the unit price would be if we were able to purchase 300?

Not at the moment.  I thought it may be difficult to reach the 300 number, so I haven't talked price point yet.  Most of the revolver grips retail at $35-40., plus shipping.
