I see that the Pachmayr presentation grip comes in a large and a small for the same gun. i.e. DW .357
Can anyone who has them explain the difference? Is it the length, front to back distance, both?
Any numbers on measurements?
Also, the Hogue # 5700 looks like a rubber Sacramento grip. Would this be a fairly accurate assumption?

The Presentation grips are basically a rubber grip that resembles the standard wood DW grips. They are the least desirable style of grips IMO. The size difference is mainly grip diameter. If you have a big hand, the larger ones would probably be suited to you. I have smaller hands and like the smaller grips. The Hogues are nice and fit my hand very well. Another grip to consider is the Pachmyr gripper. They are expensive on the auctions sites now but they fit and handle very nicely. They are only available for small frame (square grip tang) guns. Hogues come in both round tang, lg frame and square tang models.
Anything worth doing is worth doing well.

I do not tell many people this, but the small Pachmayr Presentation is my favorite after market grip. I have short fingers and they fit me well. I like them even better than the Pachamyr Gripper, which is a great choice too.
The difference between the small and large Presentation is subtle, but it does make quite a difference. Here is a link to an older thread that attempts to show the difference- https://www.danwessonforum.com/forum/dan-wesson-small-frame-revolvers/pachmayr-grips/
The Hogue Monogrip is very popular and the only rubber one still currently produced. It is very nice but has a little too much palm swell for my liking. The Hogue wood grips have less palm swell and are well made, I do like them a lot and have a couple.

Thanks to Scorpio and lonwolf93, I fondled a couple of grippers at a gun show recently. They felt nice. $10.00 each. Problem was they were not for a DW. Got all excited and went to e-bay where I watched one climb to over $130.00.
I did pick a never used small size Presentation for a DW. Without putting it on a Revolver it seems just a tad short for my relatively wide hand. So I was wondering how it compared to the large version.
Revolvers are not with me so I will see how the grip feels when I get home and on a gun. Lonwolf93, what is the screw length for the small presentation?
DD, the grip screw is the regular long screw. The $130 gripper is one of those aberrations you see every now and then. Either two newbies without a clue, an instant gratification pair who must have it now or a seller is bidding on his own item and he has hooked a big fish. The usual price is 50 to 80. IMHO.

Ole Dog has it right, all Pachmayrs utilize the regular long grip screw. Just remember it is made of rubber no need to over tighten.
If the small grip is not to your liking, the large would probably feel good. If you watch Ebay or Gunbroker the Presentation models can be had for reasonable prices. The Grippers go higher but like Ole Dog said often around $75 and if you are patient once in a while one goes low, depending on the time of year. In January a NOS Gripper still in the box went for about $42 on Ebay.

Thanks for the screw Info. Will be in touch.

Years ago I had a Gripper that fit my large frame 44. A gunsmith friend told me to simply drill out the square hole in the Grippers with the correct size bit to the correct depth and screw them down. If I can do that, anyone can. They worked great.
