Hi,
I can confirm the existance of fixed barrel models. I own one as of now (a replacement for the same model I owed years ago). It is of Palmer Mass manufacture. I will post pics of it one day. As for now, it is scrathed and a bit abused, but it will be nursed back to health. I own a SS .357 Full Under Lug Target model. This was (talking about the first one I had) a very accurate revolver. Shot better than I was able too. I wish it did have an interchangable barrel, but for the price, it was a steal. Only $400.
Will have My first chance to shoot it this weekend. I can't wait.

That's great that you were able to find a fixed barrel DW!
There's some other members who have popped up with fixed barrel guns lately, too. So far, they all seem to be Palmer guns.
Here's some pics of their guns, with some more on the next page (page 10).

We'd sure welcome pics of yours, when you are able.
Fixed barrel models are coming out of the wood works! Now what I would be interested in know is which calibers were manufactured with a fixed barrel? I'm pretty sure the following where:
Model 715
Model 744
Model 44 (I think but we need to confirm)
Anyone seen any others?
Robk, you will need to give us a range report once you try it out!

Yep, that sure looks like a fixed barrel from here, nice score!
If you don't mind me asking, where did you find that? I'm just wondering, because all the sites I frequent never seem to have any & one's definitely on my "need" list.
(BTW, all DW's are "needs", not "wants".)

I think you did well. It's funny, we started talikng about fixed barrel DW's 6-8 months ago as "something that seemed to exist" but rarely seen in captivity. Now we see a new one weekly. At first glance, you'd think its crazy to talk about taking away the signature feature on a Dan Wesson, on the other hand for 30 years I only had a 6" barrel on mine, so go figure!
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Zoommb you were mislead. In order for Canadians to purchase a gun or rifle they must take a safety course. There are quite a few rules though. We can not hunt with a handgun at all and unless you have a prohib licence(which are impossible to get) the barrel bust be over 107mm( a bit over 4inches). So we can't have the cool automatcis or the little barrels once again, unless you have the prohib licence.

Hi,
Will try to post pics soon. Just have alot to do now. But I did get it out to the range. With a friend of mine shooting it, it put at least 2 cylinders full into a half dollar size hole at 7 yards (actually saw grass on the other side of the target though the hole he made). I had some problem as I have a slight medical condition (carpual tunnel) that does not allow me to hold it steady for too long. I know that it will be capable of this accuracy at longer distances. It just goes where you point it. My friend was so impressed, he talked about getting a .357 for his very own. But it does weight a ton and has target sights (sites good, weight good for recoil, but not for hands). It looks to have been a draw or truck gun as it has scrathes in the stainless steel, nothing that can't be fixed. But what a joy it was to shoot this gun again, just as I remembered it (sold my first fixed barrel over 10 years ago).
For those looking, had to look on gunbroker of months before I found it.
