OK The s/n on my Palmer is S 00355x, The pistol is 6"s/s Probley made between 1983-95 ? My Question is Altough a lot of people say the Palmers were lemon's With the above # when was this gun built ? year? was it early or late. I would thing that there was a differance between the older # and the newer # ? This is my first Revolver, altough I have several other gun's , I always wanted to try a D/W . Bought this one off Gun Trader so wish me luck.
Well as long as it shoots straight , Thats all I really went.
Talk to you guys later as soon as I shoot this puppy.

A blanket statement that Palmers are lemons is unfair. Monsons are somewhat more desirable, but the real proof is in the results. If your pistol is accurate and reliable, then it's a winner for you. I have a Taurus 1911 that some upscale 1911 owners will try to say is a piece of junk, and S&W M&P's can take a real beating on some of the other brand boards, but mine shoot great. If you got a good pistol enjoy it, don't worry too much about what others say/think. An average DW is still a pretty good pistol, and they ain't making any more of them.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I would have to agree with sdrct, that you can't judge all DW Palmer guns based on the few. As with any revolver it's always good to check them out thoroughly.
Palmer guns were only manufactured between 1992 and 1995. The information below gives the years of manufactor for each location.
We have very little information regarding serial numbers here is a link to what we have compiled so far. Dan Wesson Serial Numbers.

Never saw that before. Fiber optic front sight might be nice, and it looks like the barrel shrouds are the heavy style. Thanks!
