Depends on what kind of help, and what kind of parts.
Oftentimes, the need for parts is less critical that the need for a good internal clean up, especially on a possible Safe Queen (estate?).
What's not working or does not seem right?
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I took the gun down to my gunsmith. The previous owner did not keep the guns clean. Some part broke due to carbon buildup. The gunsmith said it was the "yoke". The part he showed me was small, not the yoke as marked on the schematic I found. It may have been the release latch within the yoke.
I am hoping the gunsmith can find the part, whatever it is. I was just trying to do some research on part sources in case he can not come up with the part.

I've never heard of anything breaking from carbon build up. Maybe he thinks the crane lock is broken?? To some, I could see that they might think that. Is your gunsmith familiar with DW revolvers? Many aren't and we can help you out- all we need are pictures!

Parts for model 12s may be hard to find. I strongly suggest you take some clear pics and try to describe what is going on. Dans are durable revolvers, and there are some very good Dan Wesson mechanics here on the forum, it may turn out to not be as bad as you think and someone here might diagnose a fix for it.
Dan Wessons are strong revolvers with rather uncomplicated workings, but many gunsmiths have never worked on one before and can be unfamiliar with them.

I assume what he's describing as the yoke is actually the crane? This is a model 12 crane, I don't think I've heard it called a yoke before.
The lock/latch sticks out this far, if yours is worn down more than this one, it could cause it to not hold closed. Gunk buildup in the recess (notch) of the frame where this is supposed to lock into the frame will also cause it to not function properly. That can be remedied by simply scrubbing out the gunk buildup.
