I recently picked up this excellent condition revolver for 400 out the door; I think I did well but I'd like your opinion. It's a Monson model, serial 184***. Can you tell me what year it was made from that? The action is a little sticky; is that typical? What can I do to smoothen it out? I owned a 15-2 a long time ago and it was much smoother than this one. All input is greatly appreciated!

Welcome, very nice 15-2. You did well for $400. I've seen the Zebra grips you have for as much as $150 or more. A quick look at the serial number registry here shows it as a 1979 production. If you want to check out the registry go to the top of the page and click FAQS, then click serial number registry-then look for 15-2 pages. Try backing out the trigger over travel set screw on the back side of the trigger to help trigger return problem. My 15-2 over travel screw created a divot/indentation where it contacted the frame creating an over travel issue and failure to return trigger. Unscrewing it some corrected the issue. The Gunsmithing section contains a "Average Joe" tune up which is a good read before tearing into your gun. There are folks there who can answer questions also.
