I've been lurking for quite awhile, love DWs and have a few. A buddy who's really into them was looking at my pistol pac- it's a stainless 357 made in Monsoon with 4 barrels, 2 grips, a number of front sights, etc.- and he called it his "holy grail".
Are these really that rare and expensive? This one was lightly used, I don't think the other three barrels were ever used. I have other DW 357s to shoot- but I don't have a DW 445, 41 mag, etc. I am wondering if this belongs in a collection...not that I don't appreciate it, but my guns go to the range or they go to someone else, so to speak.
I'd love to have some of you weigh in on this....thanks in advance.

Original pistol pac's are relatively uncommon and the Monson pac's are a prize of collectors, since they are the first. The stainless gun alone usually goes for $50 to $100 more than the blued and excellent condition complete pac's have gotten over $1000 on auction sites.
I for one think that guns should be enjoyed and shoot first and collected (acquired) second. I have a few NIB DW's that I haven't shot with the reason being I've got other's that I have shot and just haven't gotten around to shooting these new ones.
As robhof stated you don't see many stainless Pistol Pac's and they do bring a premium. Since your gun has been shot I think you could continue using it and it would no lose value.
What other DW's do you have? We would also love to see pictures!

Welcome aboard!
I agree with the statement that if the gun has already been fired, you're pretty much good to go for shooting it. The only real way to have any additional value to that Pac would have been if it was in unfired, 'NIB' condition. Personally, I would feel just fine taking it to the range.

Welcome Bill! Glad you decided to join!
I concur with all of the above - someone somewhere said "Dan Wesson's are for acquirin' and shootin' " I think that says it all.
There is that "NIB premium" as Charger said, but you have a nice chestnut there that should be enjoyed at the range and on display!
Keep it clean, it will only increase in value.
Last stainless 715V Pistol Pac went for $1300 on GB - that's the high, but you can be fairly sure that a nice one will sell at the higher end of the range.
