Was yellow-gold the only color fabric used in the Pistol Pacs? Saw one the other day that was blue, everything looks original. I can't recall ever seeing one in blue. BTW it's a 4 barrel pac 8", 6", 4", 2. with patch, buckle (marked 1979 on back), standard & combat grip, 8 front sights, 8 HKS speedloaders, Burris scope mount. Listed @ $1050, shop owner said "make me an offer", so can probably get it for less. To rich for me at this time, if anyone is interested let me know.

Unless I'm having another brain fart, I'm pretty sure the yellow fabric is the only color used from the factory. The Pacs built before & after the yellow fabric era had no fabric, so it's possible that a previous owner wanted to make it look better by adding his own fabric.
And who knows, it may even be one of Shoot's custom Pacs, too.

I think CF is correct on this one! Yellow and then none! Blue on blued Dan not the prettiest but I guess would work! xbr get some pics if you could!

Yup--yellow and nothing else... Blue on blue --NO. I think all the Pacs I have ever made for others were red lined--they look great with blued guns.

CF did some light blue before , Here is a pic of his Lil Dan , I think
this shade of blue would look great with a blued DW, but thats just me

The shop it is at is up in PA about 40 miles, don't know when I'll get back, I'll try calling and see if they can email some pics.

Thanks for posting that, Jody. Now that you've posted your pic, I do recall seeing 2 or 3 Pacs with brown fabric. Did we ever decide whether or not those were a factory thing? I guess the best method of answering that so far is to keep collecting old magazine articles.

I also have a pistol pac, in the 44 variety, with brown fabric liner same as in the pic previously posted. Is the brown fabric original such as the yellow?

It's possible they may have run out of yellow and put some out with brown. I do not believe there has been any documentation supporting anything other than yellow, so in the absence of any factual information you can conclude it was replaced somewhere down the line. It doesn't really matter anyway, it's nothing more than a piece of fabric no different than what's up at the local JoAnn Fabric store. I actually dyed my own cloth to match the original yellow, but now that I see the brown, I like the brown better anyway. Next time I'm doing brown.

I have a pistol Pac with brown crushed velour fabric. I assume it' original. It looks just like the pics.

Would anyone know the correct "yellow" fabric that came in the pistol pac? Is it velour? Or something else? My case came with no fabric I tried a thin felt but it doesn't take the shape very well. If you have found an appropriate replacement I'd appreciate a tip. Thanks

Triple velvet from what my research came up with. I ordered some stuff that is real close of E-Bay for a few bucks. I will post a picture of the pacs I put it in

My guess is brown was for stainless models and yellow for blued.
