I have a question regarding the foam cutter that you built as well as the link to the site with all of the foam cutter information.

In looking at the design on the link, I didn't see a grounding mechanism.  When you designed your foam cutter, did you include a ground?  I know that I sound paranoid, but it only takes about 70ma to stop your heart.

Mine is chassis grounded at the transformer, but there really is no need... The transformer is an isolation device itself, plus as long as the cutting wire remains intact, the circuit is closed and there is no chance of shock.  I'm pretty sure I could grab both side of the cutting circuit with no worries.  I've grabbed doorbell circuits before, and they give you a decent tingle, but I'm still alive Laugh

If you have any questions while building, give me a call.

Picked this case up for $2 at the flea market today—it is "Airway" brand, and very well made.  Anyone attempting their first case should consider one like this;  it is a perfect rectangle cutout--no rounded corners.  It is also the same depth the whole way across--no beveled edges.  CF will agree with me, cutting foam for a beveled case can be a PITA!

Have I mentioned lately how much I love working with foam…Laugh.  I'm working on the case for the 357SM, but just can't figure out how to lay it out in the case.  Since I'll never have a 4 barrel pack for this, I can lay it out however I want.  Probably no buckle/patch in this one–we'll see….

That looks pretty good.Cool I know what you mean...extra barrels makes it easy to know where to put the stuff, no barrels leaves a guy (me) open to all sorts of goober ideas.lol2

Those look good, Shoot. Laugh

At first, I was wondering why you left so much room around the barrel & grip area on the stainless gun, but then I realized it was so you could swap barrels & grips without sacrificing room...duh!Confused Good planning, it'll look great when you're finished.occasion

yea, I'm hoping it looks ok once the fabric is laid.  With two completely different barrel/shroud profiles it was the only way to do it--just in case I want to swap barrels, it can go directly back in the case either way.

Steve CT said:SHOOT- That new case just screams for a Navy blue cloth and a 744 4/6/8/10 set, and it's big enough to do it in with plenty of space. Set the combo to "744" ?

"Ask an ye shall receive!"...  Well it's as close to navy blue as I could get Laugh.  And yes, I set the combo to "744"
