Thanks guys. Yep when I saw that fabric, I knew it would look great inside a Pac. This one was built using a black Tourister case…those things are hard to find! I guess various versions of brown were all the rage back then.
Also, a big thanks to LB for the fantastic grip (it's staying on this gun) & to Jody for the cool patch.

SMF's right, it's been a little slow around here lately. So I'll join with his attempt of increasing posting action on the forum by adding a couple pics of my latest Pac attempts.
This is the first Pac case I made...for my Model 40, clear back on page 1 in this thread. I've been able to collect a couple barrel variations (6" & 8" non-slotted) since then & decided to cut the foam last weekend & make 'em at home. If I ever find a 10" barrel, I'll have to re-do the foam.
Here's the beginning of what I hope will be a multi-barrel Pac for my 445 SM. Just a quickie Pic taken at the gun's first range day.
And in case anyone's been wondering, a DW Mini Pac case fits two 4" Porkchops quite nicely.

WOW!!!! that's a nice case you got there, those Porkchops look real good in the case!
They sure do, thanks for selling it to me!
Blacktop, I'll try to get a better shot one day soon. I bought a long roll of that fabric a while back, for a good deal. The only bummer is that it's not stretchy enough, so it leaves creases when I sink a gun in the foam cut outs. I've also used it in my Lil' Dan (a page or two back) & SBH cases so far.
Looks more green here, my dumb camera is finicky using indoor lighting.
SMF, your DW's would look great in some cases. I bet one day you'll find out that case making can be sort of addicting too.

OK, I'm slowly but surely getting the Patriot Pac ready... almost time to cut some foam !!! I found the small flask at the gun show today.
Probably do a green velvet liner. I'll put in a set of Mold handles and a few cast round balls. Looking for a vintage tin of percussion caps also. I think it will look good once I get all the brass pieces polished up.

I really enjoy reading the post on the DWF, the ideas are great. When not working I go to estate sales, auctions, mostly looking for older tools. I was at one the other day and in one roll was a set of luggage. I looked it over and it was in very good shape. American Tourister with a dark grey finish and the "Bond" locks. I wound up with a 3pc set for $3.00. They are in great shape and when I checked them out, inside was the small brown envelope with the original keys inside, and they work fine. So, now I have to get some foam n propper material and get to work. Thanks alot for the ideas. One of the pieces is perfect for a handgun case @ 18'x13"x4 3/4" and another in the set was refered to as a train box, about 13"x8"x8". I plan to use it to transport ammo in. Alot of newspaper and some web sites tell of local auctions and list many of the items. So, now I'll be keeping my eye out for luggage listed.

This one is going to happen soon... so here is the planning stage...
Picked this case up yesterday in Goodwill for $12... It had PP written all over it.. I'll put a nice DW sticker where the record label is.
Looks different--imagine my surprise when I opened it up...
So I toyed around with what to put in it -- original idea was the 445 with 10" barrel; looked great, but I plan on scoping the 445 and it wouldn't fit. Then my son mentioned the lonely little model 9 -- no extra barrels to worry about...
Quick test fit and some optional items....
It will take some playing to see what ends up in the PP and get the optional items in the right locations . There is actually 50 rounds of ammo in the DW box--not too sure how to work the fabric--I want the DW box to sit deep in the foam.

Behold... !!! the super conservative Pac... Just the bare minimums... Now the Model 9 has a proper home.
I used sparay adhesive for the lid fabric and also on the patch to keep them from drooping the fabric when lid is opened. The patch will rest on the gun when the lid is closed... probably no big deal, but i may place a piece of velvet between them. Now I just need a big DW sticker for the outside of the case.

Hi All;
I just got a DW 357 Model 14 with 3 Barrel/shrouds. I knew nothing about Dan Wesson Arms so this place has been a wealth of information I can't thank you all enough, its been really interesting.
Well soon I felt the unavoidable urge to have a case for the gun so off to Ebay. I found one but it seemed expensive so I half heartedly put in a Snipe bid $51 thinking I would not win, I had no idea how expensive these are as I had not read this post yet. I won the action and thought I just spent way more than I should have. Thanks to this post I think I might of got a pretty good deal now.
Let me know what you think, if I ever get a camera that works I'll post gun picks I've got lot of questions about them but for now no digital camera so that will have to wait I guess

If that is a factory black DW case (which it appears to be) you got a great deal. I just watched a DW case go on ebay the other day... $216 + ship
I just sold off my extra factory Pacs and didn't get that for them ....

Hi SHOOT;
I was watching that one myself, that's kind of why I think I got a decent deal. I don't get Ebay some times I wasn't expecting to win but why would the same case go for $150 more 1 week later? It's not that much nicer than mine.
well I guess I got lucky what I really need is a wrench

If you want a functional, well made wrench, buy the EWK wrench (check the right sidebar). The DW factory wrenches are junk in comparison.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
