On a happy note, I just won a Colt New Service. Yay! Now I have less money for my DW 22 Pack. Boo.
Anyhow, on any caliber, how much rear sight adjusting goes on when you go from shorter to longer barrels?
And, how do you keep track of how many clicks of adjustment per barrel?

Can't say for sure. I usually bore site my guns when I make a major barrel length change. I bore site it to 65', the length of my basement, and that gets me inside the 8 ring or better at 25 yards rested next time to range. They are cheap and can be had at Wal Mart etc.
Anything worth doing is worth doing well.

My 22 arrived today wearing the short barrel. The rest of the pack arrives tomorrow.
I loaded it with my Speedbeez speedloader from my K22 & took a few shots ar 25 Yds. I had to hold at the very
top of my gong to hit. It will be interesting trying all the other barrels & noting POA / POI.
The finish is flawless and it's a pleasure to shoot.
Recoil was milder than my new Bisley pushing out it's 300 gr. Buffalo Bore loads. Gonna be a fun Summer here in the Hills.

Zero the gun at your required range, then count the number of clicks it takes to run the rear sight down to the bottom. Record that number of clicks in a notebook or something you will take to the range. Do the same with each different barrel.
What handgun silhouette shooters like myself do, with every gun, is establish the zero, count the clicks, write it down, then, using the same barrel, record the number of additional clicks needed for each further distance. We shoot chickens at 50 meters, pigs at 100 meters, turkeys at 150 meters and rams at 200 meters. Let's say my zero for the 50 meter targets is 20 clicks up from the bottom. I might go 3 more clicks up for 100 meters, 5 more for 150 meters and 8 more for 200 meters. Recorded like this...
Chickens (50M) Bottom plus 20
Pigs (100M) +3
Turkeys (150M) +5
Rams (200M) +8
As far as the number of clicks between different barrels, no set rules. Depends on the load used and the front sight height. That's why we write them down for each one.

Thanks for that insight, Dean. Good information...not sure an old shooter like myself can handle all that math though.
As a self-taught hunter I learned to eyeball distance and POA which works in the field but your method makes lots of sense for the range.

Thanks. I've been busy with some other guns lately, but it's.22 week, so I'll give it a try.
If I can come up with a scope mount I'll try to find out what ammo the Lil' Dan like best.
