My brass (445) finally arrived and I started on working up some loads. The gun shoots great and recoil was not to bad all things considered, but that muzzle and cylinder blast cleared all the pollen out of the nearby trees. Looked like yellow fog.Laugh

I do believe I will have to stick to paper targets though, She tears up the steel ones to bad.

What you need is gallon milk jugs filled with water = very entertaining.Laugh

Sounds like you had a good time. That's good the recoil wasn't as bad as you were expecting, I found the same thing with 'ol Barney, my Model 40.

Hmmmmm, Jugs of water with maybe different colors of die. + a super mag = a new form of art.  I wonder if I could catch that on camera.  You shouldn't give me ideas because my warped mind may take them to all kinds of strange places. LOL

I also found the recoil of the 445 not bad.  It doesn't seem any worse than my 744.  Next week I will finally get to the range with my new (to me) 740. It's gotta be a puppy to shoot -- that huge frame and smaller caliber.  I can't wait.  Laugh

They're great for mosquito eradication too.  Last summer I went to the outdoor range just before sunset to shoot my mod 40 with the 6" barrel, forgot to use insect spray.  As I settled down to start shooting the swarms came in fo a fill, noticed large numbers on my forearms until I fired the 1st round, then the table was covered with writhing mosquitoes, waited for my arms to get filled up again to fire the 2nd round and same results.  After 4 rounds they seemed to loose interest in me....

Pollen removal, skeeter killing, there is just no end to the usefulness of a super mag is there.
