You all have touched my pork Chop taste buds! If i'm going to buy one it's got to be special. This one has been on a site for quite a while at $1650 seems high but it looks rare. A very early Model 12 pistol pac before there were cases. The gun is clearly marked as a model 12 but the label on the box says model 15. The serial number on box matches (written in pen). The seller's explanation was they think Dan Wesson was starting to make model 15's and this is a 15 but the frame was still marked as if a 12. Box sure looks old they said 1972. Thoughts on value? Thanks, Stan
It appears to be a model 12 with model 15 Barrel assemblies. Not a pistol pack without the suitcase and inleted uncarved grip. They had cases from the beginning. The seller is a sack of - - - -. I suspect the box is not original to the gun. The prices seems out of line by about $600 IMHO. The gun is nice but you need the real BAs to have a collectable.

You have to understand, I'm just getting used to this site. I promise no more double posts. I put the post about this gun for sale at the bottom of the "i hate pork chops" listing and my brain says nobody is going to see it there so I made a new post about just that subject. Now I get it you all are going to read everything the new dumb ass dude posts just for laughs! Anyway i'm still trying to get over insulting all the pork chop guys. I took it for granite that pork chops were just not desirable since they don't seem to sell well and they seem to be lower in price. Will not make that mistake again. So much that i'm now going to invest in a pork chop pistol pac but have to find the right one at the right price!

By the way I'm pretty happy with all my purchases except the 375 Supermag due to ammo. I also sold a few dans I bought first and made a little money on them. And the good news is I found 375 brass (real supermag brass not cut down ones) and bullets and dies and my friend manages an ammo manufacture. They want to do a test run and may start selling 375 supermag ammo (and 445 & 357 maximum also) on limited runs! THe old man who owns the place loves Dan Wessons and wants to get into the supermag ammo. At least I will have quite a bit of my own ammo and if I decide to sell the 375 I will have ammo and brass to sell with the gun so the new owner will not go thru what I did.

The first year that I decided to become a DW collector I purchased a small collection of 8 from a gentleman in February of 19 and then a good size portion of another gentleman's large collection (27 I think) in March. Not sure what the total ended up at on December 31st, but I had DWAS pretty bad that year. Still have it to this day!

Stinger, Dart, you guys make me feel better about my own case of my first year. I truly thought I was out of control. I also bought a couple Rugers, and an expensive (at the time) United Sporting Arms Seville during that year. After that last one, I slammed the lid on new purchases for a while, or I was potentially gonna be in financial trouble if I didn't control myself.

OK found a new and I do mean new model 15 Pork Chop Pistol pac for sale. THey say it's a new unfired condition and it looks like that's true but the price of $2400 I think is way too high
, Your thoughts on the value of this gun? I was thinking more like $1500 It has an original Dan Wesson black case with 2 keys also.DWF Supporters

And why when you post a thread and add pics after you write the text does it jumble up the thread you write putting half above where all of it should be and then shifts the rest of the pist down below? Makes it hard to read and weird post.
I believe when pics are uploaded, they are inserted in the body of text,, wherever the cursor was.

Exactly, it works best if you type the text, then hit the Enter key, so it puts your cursor on the next line down...then load your pics. If you want any more text below the pics, hit the Enter key again, so your cursor is on a fresh line.
Regarding the Pac price, if it's truly unfired and absolutely pristine, I would offer $2K to see if he bites. But I would want a ton of much better pics first, including the firing pin area of the recoil shield.
There were approximately 10,000 exterior nut 11,12s.about 15,000 14 and 15s. 25,000 unofficial model 14-1 and 15-1s. The first two had the short action hammer I love so much. I might pay 2000 for an unfired 15 pack. But I have over 150 Dans in 10 years. That averages to 15 a year🙄.
I figured that 5 Dans at $500 each will double in value faster than one Python at $2500. And way faster than money in the bank. Also money in the bank or stock market is easily withdrawn and frittered away. If you make profit selling stock there are capital gains or worse. Interest paid on deposits are taxable. Real estate has has holding costs, ie, taxes, repairs and government regulations impact value. And taxes on sale. Profit on the sale of your personal residence is tax free up to $500,000 if married but moving sucks and unless you downsize to Florida you have to buy another house.
So guns are a great investment. Unless it is your business it isn't even taxed when sold. That would be unconstitutional. So I keep buying Dans and other guns. Best to underpay than overpay though.

DANG!! Ole Dog, you and I are on the same page, other than the potential volume of DW's between us. You won, brother! My DW's have most certainty tripled in value over the past decade. I just wish I had chosen to throw in harder a decade ago as opposed to reigning myself in as I did. Ahhh, well, ce'st la vie
