Dans are chump change compared to boats. Boats are real money. Planes too. And wives🤣.
Ooof...wives, yeah they can really run up the tab.
How does that saying go? Boat ownership...the two happiest days of owning a boat; The first when you buy your first boat, and the 2nd when you sell it. Something like that.

I tried to buy a pork chop tonight I really tried! I keep running into MINO'S (MONEY IS NO OBJECT) bidders. This gun I think went way over it's value maybe i'm wrong but I was going to stop around $900 but I really wanted it. He did so I went to $1150 and at that point I was out . He took it for $1175 seemed high maybe not since it had an original box? It was not even a model 11 or 12 but an early 15 model. Did I do the right thing or was it worth $1300? Plus?
That is a new World Record. . $700 would be high. MINO is a new one to me, but I have been there. I have the most expensive Colt Heavy Barrel 38 Spec Officers model in the world. The Phillips and RodgersMedusa 47 was a real slog too.
Be patient, many more porkchops will show up.

I'm taking credit for MINO (I just made it up) but it's true. When you get into a bidding war with a bidder that wants something and has deep pockets and does not care if he pays double of what something is worth. I was crazy to go as high as I did but the box, it's the box that spurned me on. I like original boxes with my guns and you don't see these with guns as often as say "Toy's" or other collectibles. Anyway I kind of feel good he bailed me out. I was bidding on a Western Auto 99 last week a High Standard Sentinel (rebranded for Western Auto) nickel gun in the original box. This guy out bid be and ended up paying $1375 for a $600 gun. MINO "MONEY IS NO OBJECT" I guess id I were well off I may have that mind set too!

MINO, that's a good one...and true for some folks!
Seeing the prices of a lot of guns, especially DW's these days makes me glad I bought most of mine a decade ago when they were "cheap". Many of the DW's I bought at the time, I remember thinking "man, I hope the DW market doesn't tank next year". But alas, it turned out exactly the opposite, thankfully. I am currently in negotiations with a seller for what may be my most expensive DW yet, and it's not even a rare one! Oh well, the 'ol never really gets healed, does it? For me (as with many), it just goes into remission from a while.
