I'm in pursuit of a ~4" porkchop barrel assembly. I currently have a 2.5" for a Model 14 (windage adjustable only rear sight) and a 6" for a Model 15 (old style windage and elevation adjustable rear sight). Both of my frames are early non-dash number models. At this point I'd take one for either frame (would prefer to find one for the Model 15), but the issue is that most sellers on the auction sites either don't have a clue as to what they have or what model the gun came from. So I'm seeking front sight height info for the one barrel type I don't have, that being a Model 14-1 (completely fixed rear sight). I believe it has the lowest front sight height of the three porkchop styles, and I don't believe a Model 14 and 15 sight are interchangeable from a sight height POV based on the attached picture of my two guns nose-to-nose (Note that another issue with this issue - LOL - is that there might not be a good common reference plane to reference sight height other than the centerline of the barrel). Does anyone have some specifics on this issue that might help me wade through the uncertainty of the auction sites? Thanks for any info/help.

I can hopefully help you.
Okay, after tossing my garage for my calipers & coming up empty, I resorted to a metric ruler to measure the sight height. Losing my mind, I tell ya! Anyway, here are models 14 & 14-1. The 14 on the left measures very near 7.5mm, and the 14-1 on the right measures 6mm tall.
The sights are interchangeable, by driving out the pin that holds it into the shroud. Not nearly as simple as the -2 guns, but doable.

Charger Fan - awesome, that will helpbut where are you measuring from? As you can see in both pics, the base of the front sights appears to be different for each model so the measurement would need to be from the center of the bore (which is not easy to do) or possibly from the top of the bore. (BTW, in my pic above the model 15 is on the left, the model 14 is on the right).
Now the next question - does this vary by barrel length for the different models?

I measured from the top of the shroud rib to the top of the sight.
As far as your next question, I think it depends on the model. For example, my W12 PP's have the same sight height on all three shrouds. However, other later models have varying height sights. So unfortunately at this time, I don't have a definitive answer. I guess I should buy more PP's...purely for study purposes, of course.
