Can you use a ported barrel with a slotted shroud, and if you can would it affect the scope?

Simple answer = NO.

First and foremost, put the ported barrel back in your PP and get out the unported one. Then add one of these;

if you think you need it.

Second, the ported barrel will probably allow some gas leakage at the front slot.  That gas would be directed back toward you putting both your hands and eyes at risk.  Probably not something you want to do.

That's kind of what I was thinking,just wanted to get someone else's input on it.I would love to use one of Erik's compensators but it wouldn't work with my holster I use for my DW,thanks for your reply.

      Many thanks, Gunsite

The compensator is easily installed and.removed in minutes. The shims used to position the compensator can stay on the reciever end of the barrel and the compensator screwed on when you want it. A good thing to do with the ported barrel is sell it on ebay. Not one of Dan Wesson's better ideas. I personally do not think the compensators make much difference but it may help the 4"barrel recoil. The weight of the 8" barrel keeps recoil down. The VH shroud  would work even better.
