Hi all,
First post here. Got hooked on DW revolvers after purchasing a model 14 pistol pak with SN in the low 300's! Bought 3 more after that, including a 357 supermag.
Anyway, being a big DW fan, I'm agonizing over whether or not to bid on the PPC Action Cup currently on Gun Broker. I thought about it and decided that I would 2 days ago. Today, having had a chance to think it over, I'm beginning to feel like it's not worth the starting price of $1100.
Is it just a glorified 715/15 with a really thick barrel shroud, or is it something much more besides the "rare" factor? Your thoughts are appreciated.

I'm very surprised that one didn't sell on the original go-round, at $1200. Those guns are a rare model, the last couple I've been watching have gone for $1300 to over $1700 on GB.
I guess in a case like this, a guy just needs to weigh his against his wallet & see which one comes out ahead.

That gun is "known" here, the seller is a member. While I would not be interested in it, the PPC Action Cup is a pretty specialized and unusual item. If you're just looking for a shooter, a 15-2/715 is a better choice at much less money. It is somewhat better fitted and tuned than a standard DW, a precision shooting machine.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Thanks Steve. I like rarer guns, but will have no qualm about shooting them. I have a 15-2 that I just manage to fix a sticky cylinder issue (cylinder gap too tight). Now I need to replace the mainspring and trigger return spring since the trigger struggles to reset on occasions and I have to push the hammer slightly to get it to reset.

EWK Arms has the springs you need. I would also like to plug his fiber optic sites. I put two of them to the test yesterday and couldn't be more pleased, I will by more.

I was looking at EWK Arms. While I'm not savvy with the terms of the various parts, I didn't see the trigger return spring listed. I was looking at the Wolff springs instead. Any reason to stay away from Wolff?

I agree here. These guns are not your average "plinking" DW, but more of a aficionado's "hi-mark", as it were. Especially these days. A good 715-2/715 will likely fit your needs perfectly, I can attest that I've had plenty of happy range trips with mine. ...
