is there a seasonal change  in prices? I just saw a very nice but not perfect Monson 44 with a six inch barrel and the tool, extra grip, gauge and envelope go for $480 on gunbroker. if you subtract the value of the extras that puts it down in the lower end of the 357s. Are prices going down or is this just one that slip through the cracks?

There does not seem to be a pattern.Gunbroker prices are all over the place.

I have shotguns that pattern better than gunbroker prices...

Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

Read this post then checked Gunbroker even though I have bought two guns already this past month. Ron' s 732 BIN deal has me checking GB more. Suddenly, it occurred to me that all those new 715's could be suppressing prices by syphoning some demand.

laughing That's a good one.... Sadly, accurate as well.

if you find one...what's your plan?

I get quite a bit on Gb. You just get lucky sometimes. Maybe the ad isn't worded right, maybe it ends at an odd time, maybe the seller doesn't know what he's got.

I have bought a bunch of 15-2s over the last 8 years for good, if not great prices. Sometimes, there is a flood of them and you can just get lucky and get one pretty cheap, other times, it's a real mystery as to why the price is so low. My first gun bought on an online auction was my 715 VH6. Nobody bid on it but me and one other guy. It looked great in the pics, had the original box, 3 grips, custom sights (much better than stock, IMHO), one of the crappy plastic wrenches, some spare springs and stuff, a gun rug, and the original box. I got it for $269! The average for a 715 without any extras was well over $325+. Until I saw it in person, I expected there to be something wrong with it. Why it went so cheap, I don't know, but I am very happy. The only thing keeping it from being mint was/is a scratch on the shroud. I've won a few barrels and shrouds on ebay cheap too, none of them were actually "bad", most of them were just leaded up or dirty. My SS 4" was full of lead, and after a half dozen passes through it with my Lewis Lead Remover, I ended up with a nice barrel. Another great price was the blued 6VH barrel and shroud I got cheap. Only problem was, some Bozo had red loctited the nut onto the barrel and I had to use a torch and a vise to get it off. Once it came off and I got the loctite off, it was fine. I got it about 2 years ago for about $110, a steal compared to the prices I see now.

I have purchased 2 15-2 revolvers in the past year on GB.  Both have 6" barrels.  One was $350 and the other was $367.  About a month ago, I couldn't believe it when I saw a 15-2 frame go for $449.  Just the frame!  I don't get it.

Then the real jaw dropper was the 414 that sold for over $9,000.

Mine went cheap because the P.O. didn't realize that the cylinder was binding because the barrel was in too tight.

After backing it out and setting it to .004, works great!    :)

Wouldn't it be great if all wars could be fought just by the a-holes who started them?
