Ok, I'm new to revolvers.  I like the look of the western holsters, but I also need a functioning hunting holster.  The 357 I just purchased for 400 has a bianchi cyclone holster.  Is this a good hunting/open carry holster for hunting and standard shooting.  A belt for 38s should be the same fit, correct?  I'm looking at getting an Oklahoma belt for Cabela's when I pick it up on Friday.  Would this be a good belt with this holster.  Thanks

Oh, pics coming soon.

I have the cyclone holsters also and really like them.  For hunting I wear a bandolier scoped  chest rig.  Keeps the gun right in front and easy to access.

I should have been more clear.  I am hunting with iron sites.

I carry my 6" GP100 in a Simply Rugged Sourdough Pancake.  It's a nice holster and the maker has a lot of options.  It's reasonably priced and can be worn cross draw as well.  They are at http://www.simplyrugged.com.  Here's a pic.

I would always remind anyone buying a holster (for a blued pistol pistol especially) to consider paying a little more for a lined holster, cuts down on wear marks on the pistol in the long run. Obviously not so critical for very intermittent holster use.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Well, I opted to buy more ammo instead of a holster.  I figured it was more important to get comfortable shooting a handgun than experiment with a holster.  I took it out shooting today for the first time.  Nice and smooth are the first two words that come to mind
