I NOTICED THAT ON THE 2008 PRICE LIST UNDER
"COMPLETE BARREL ASSEMBLIES-- SMALL FRAME" THERE IS A LISTING FOR .357 MAG.
AND UNDER
"COMPLETE BARREL ASSEMBLIES--LARGE FRAME " THERE IS A LISTING FOR .357 MAG.
SO WHICH IS IT OR DID THEY MAKE A SMALL AND LARGE FRAME .357 MAG. ?

You're looking at this price list?

What I'm seeing is the large frame listing as "Supermag Frame"...with Model 40 & 740 .357 Maxi's in the list. The Supermags are a large frame gun & the barrels won't interchange with the small frame .357 Mag guns.

Wayne is correct. There is a listing under "Complete Barrel Assemblies - Large Frame" for a .357 Magnum. The model is 7360.
I have heard of this mode before but I don't know what it is, nor have I seen one. Perhaps one of you guys has a pic of a 7360 and an acurate description???
I was beat out by the Captn on GunBroker for one of these. The 360DW is a lengthened 357 that could be chambered in the larger frame gun without extending the cylinder. I'm sure only a few of these were made.

OOHH.. Jody....
"The Captn" who is that "person".. he beat me out of a barrel that I wanted on GB..
it was an 8 " barrel only ported.. no shroud..
he is mercy-less... and must have deep deep pockets to boot.. I was tempted to take him up higher then I went just to see if' he'd go the distance.. but I chickened out..
we got up to like $210 bucks.. and I reasoned that for THAT amount I could buy a one from DW and have it drilled myself.. so I bailed out... lol..

If I remember correctly he's out in Washington or Oregon... He has deep pockets since he's bought about $3000 worth of stuff I sold back last summer. Plus he beat me out on that 7360 which went for $1K. Plus I have seen him pickup several DW's for over $1K each.
I just hope I don't have to bid against him on the next item I want!

Here's what I know about ol' Capn Jim: Big wallet, nice collection (if he's kept all that treasure he's bought).
Seems to me I saw him buy one of those SS kits for a $1500.
If I ever see him sell something I'll send an email to get him on the forum - he's GOT to have some great pictures!

The 360 was about midway between the 357mag and max in length, the idea being that it would be lighter than the max. for IHSMA competition, as the Max was close to the limit and as with all large frame revolvers got very heavy during long shooting competition. The wt saving would be on the slightly shorter cylinder on the 360's, as the barrel was of the supermag size to handle the pressures, which were lower than the max, but still higher than the safe mag levels.

In another thread, IHMSA said he got to shoot a 360 last weekend that belongs to a friend of his. I think he needs to post a range report on that baby.
This 7360 was developed for cast bullet shooting and it does superbly with those silver slugs. I shot it at some rams at 200 meters. Once I got dialed in, it never missed, and was very mild to shoot. The gun is identical to my 741-SRS, except the hood on the 7360 is the production version SRS hood, not this Ken Light one. Wish I had a pic of the 7360, but this one of my twin will suffice til I see it again.

Thanks for the report IHMSA. Does the 7360 do a good job of knocking down the rams, or does it sorta run out of gas out that far?
Man, that 10″ 741 is just a drool maker!
I want to thank IHMSA 80X80 too for the range report and add I NEVER get tired of looking at that 41 10" SRS-1 of yours. It is what I would order if you could still order revolvers.

SMF.. STOP IT !!! THAT IS AN OUR RIGHT EXAGGERATION. !!!
We ALL know you would order a minimum of 2 of everything they had .. if you could still order revolvers… and you know it… you could NEVER stop at ordering just one …
then again so would we all… I'm sitting here day dreaming about.. “If I had ONLY KNOW “ " WHY didn't I when I had the chance"" Blah blah blah …….hahahaha

OK Ok you are right. I often have gone the road of what would I have bought and the if only's. You know I bet DW could have sold an enormous amount of wheel guns if they had done the Coca -Cola routine of stating they are quitting production of revolvers publically, waiting awhile while panic built and then said OK we 'll stay in a little longer, man would have the orders rolled in.
Coke did that with the Coke Classic routine and it worked.
