Hi, folks!
I have a chance to get a DW revolver, model 744 at a fairly good price. It's a Palmer gun, serial # 44S00257X. Is there a way to tell just by serial number range if this is one of undesirable Palmer guns? Can CZ USA be of any help with this matter? Thanks so much for any info!

Congratulations on your purchase! We really don't have serial number details that would answer your question. However, there are many folks here at DWF that have Palmer guns and are very pleased with them. You have to judge each revolver individually. Most of the issues I have read about are related to fit and finish and less about actual functionality.
