OK...I know the early .44 mag barrels and shrouds were ported...were any other BAs ported from a DW plant?
Next question...how many models in the Palmer and Norwich lines came with compensated BAs and in what lengths?
Somewhere in this forest of DW posts I recall reading that compensated BAs with two slots were fixed-barrel revolvers and all the interchangeable compensated BAs had three slots. Does that hold true?
Thanks for sharing your thoughts...

The shrouds and barrel assemblies were available separately so they could be used on any large or supermag frame. A 445 comp shroud could be used on a 40 or 740 with the 357 barrel tube. I don't know if you could get a shroud rolled marked 357 max. The 44 shroud would not fit the model 40 ejector rod.

As a collector late to the party I assumed you had to buy the revolver in order to get the compensated barrel. I thank you both for your info.
I have seen a 7414 with a compensated barrel so I know that model should be on the list as well.
And I have seen 7445s with compensated barrels up to 8 inch with a 10 inch shroud...does anyone know if they made 'em with 10 inch barrels and 12 inch shrouds? That would be one honkin' revolver!

Are the compensated barrel shrouds still avalible from CZ or any one else? I have been looking for a couple for my 7445 but they don't come up very often.
I saw a selection of various 7445 BA's (5" compensated VH, VH6 First Edition and a VH8S) with a "International Handgun Metallic Silhouette Association" display case on GunBroker;

The seller originally offered these BA's as a side deal with whoever won the auction for his 7445 listing with a V8S on it, for an additional $1,500. I don't recall if the frame was a FI, but the most probable explanation is the original owner (probably a IHMSA member) had another length installed for shooting and probably died with it in that configuration.
I asked the seller if the winner didn't take them, could I have them for the same price. He agreed, but when the winner didn't want them, he told me he now wanted $1,800.

I have a 7445 multi barrel pack that took years to put together, I came across some of the barrels before I had a revolver, half the fun is the hunt.
If you don't mind sharing...what barrels do you have in your 7445 pack?

I have been watching the auction sites daily and never saw that listing, sad to say the set is out of my reach price wise. I have 2 7445 revolvers, a Palmer I have had for 20+ years and a Norwich I picked up this year and haven't shot it yet but is tight so it should do well. Over the years I have picked up several barrels for my 7445 but it has taken 10+ years to get these extra barrels. Does anyone know if CZ or anyone else is making 7445 barrels in VH, V or any version of compensated barrel assembly or shrouds only? Here is a pic of my 7445's and barrel assemblies, the 10" on the bottom is one someone welded/soldered a scope mount on and I got it for a good price and have been able to remove the mount and need to clean up the top rib. I think it is a blue shroud that was plated but not 100% sure on that?
