I tried to read as much as I could before posting but have a few questions. I'm sure it's all been rehashed before so I apologise in advance.
Regarding ewk slabside. Does it take into account front sight height during ordering? Or is it up to you to get the right height? Seeing as how he's out of stock on everything I can't go through the order process right now to find out. But will definitely be purchasing one.
Furthermore on ewks, the list a "massive" weight but not an actual weight. I'm a little torn on whether to buy a four inch or six once available. My current deciding factor is looks alone. My pistol is a 14-2 fixed rear and will only be used as a fun gun. In my uniformed mind the four inch may suit this role perfectly, but my gut says go six. Does anyone have both and what are your personal thoughts between the two?
Now just a few questions about the platform itself. Are there any semi drop in fit aftermarket hammers for these guns? The trigger suits me just fine, and I plan on getting the wolf spring set. But the hammer sits a little funky for my thumb reach. I've ordered a hogue grip and think this might increase that distance. Making single action cocking a little more cumbersome. Is there aftermarket solutions for this aside from custom smithing?
Thanks for entertaining the long post.
I think you may have a problem with the front sight being too high on a 14-2. EWK makes a lower front sight though for 14-2 frames and 15-2 BAs.
Concerning the hammer. I don't know of any aftermarket hammer spur solutions. Maybe you can adapt a Smith or Colt hammer extension. Hammers and triggers are drop in parts. Maybe a large frame hammer spur can be braised or welded or even loctited on.

Not trying to derail the thread but it made me start wondering about the different barrel lengths and the fixed-sight models. Has anybody noticed a difference on point of impact when changing barrel lengths on Model 14s?
I notice a POI change on the 15-2s between barrels and the same loads.

Not a derail at all. I was wondering if I'd have to get a different height between a 6 and 4 barrel. A little more browsing showed me that the blades between a 14 and 15 are completely different. So I guess I'm buying the conversion blade from ewk as well.
While we're in here. Anyone got pics of third 6 and 4 inch slabsides? I still can't make up my mind.
I know the 6 will probably be the better shooter, but the 4 just kind of looks cool. I know that's flimsy criteria for a weapon. , But like I said earlier, this is purely a fun gun so I'm not worried about it.

On a model 14 service revolver with fixed sights, I prefer the more concealable carry length of a 4" barrel ... but a target model 15 with adjustable sights I would rather have the 6" barrel length to benefit from the better accuracy.

This is nothing about EWK. It really is about the sight mechanics and trajectory/distance.
And it did "derail" at #4. Good time for someone to open a new Topic about sight heights on various DW revolver models, bullet drop, or anything else not related to EWK, a longtime Member and good friend to DWF.
Locked.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
