To make matters more confusing, 14 and 15 porkchop shrouds have higher front sights than the unofficial 14-1 and 15-1. There are also POA issues. 14 rear sight is on top of the frame and 14-1 is a cut in the frame like the 14-2. 15 is the big original rear sight and the 15-1 rear sight is the High Sta dard sight. Similar to a S&W rear sight.
If you have a 14-2 frame and want to use that shroud you can get a front sight from EWK. Dan Wesson did make lower profile front sights but I think they were for the longer (10" to 15") and they are very hard to find.
You need to use correct terminology if you require information. That is a shroud, not a barrel. The barrel is the tube that screws into the frame. They are the same for 14-2s and 15-2s. The two together with the barrel nut are called a Barrel Assembly, or BA for short.

I will try to get my terminology correct in the future. If you read my first post I asked this "Will a 14-2 barrel (should be BA") work my bad ("fit") on a 15-2 revolver?" So no I am not trying to put this on a 14-2 frame as you state above. I have a 15-2 "frame". DW is so confusing unless you are an expert with many years experience. This is my first DW revolver or frame and BA.
