OTOH, sounds like great practical training ammo. When I'm training with buddies, we load for each other, and once in a while toss in a dummy, low-power or Speer plastic round. With the stuff you're using, it sounds like this unpredictability is a built-in feature.

Have you tried this ammo in other guns? It may be good training to have FTFs, but I doubt you bought it for that purpose. You bought it to shoot, so it should. If it is the gun it should be fixed. If it is the ammo it should be either returned (not an easy thing to do) or just avoided in the future. Just my two cents on the subject.
