I have a Dan Wesson .44 revolver, I bought it used from a friend who bought it used, so I don't know how old it is.
A few of the ratchets on the back of the extractor are worn, causing the gun to malfunction because the hand is slipping not allowing the chambers to line up with the fiiring pin (out of time).
I took it to a gunsmith who diagnosed the problem, and told me that they no longer make this part and that he would try to find a used one, otherwise he could try and weld a small beed onto the part of the ratchhets that are worn.
Does anybody know where I could find this part, new or used? Anybody else experiance this problem?

Your gunsmith is probably correct, but the Dan Wesson factory in Norwich, NY may be able to help.
Email Priscilla at: DW Parts dwparts@cz-usa.com or call her at (607) 336-1174 ext. 21
Good luck & let us know how you make out.
I don't know about an FFL, but I know previously they would only replace at the factory or send to a certified gunsmith; the cylinder or any related parts, because of liability with a timing problem, as all the cylinders are hand finished for the specific gun. Even Ruger won't sell a cylinder without your gun sent in for timing.
