I am stuck at home.. waiting on Home Depot to deliver a new oven (long story... no i did not want to spend money on an oven)..

So cruising around just looking on the web for "stuff". I looked and looked and could not find a youtube video on the interchangeability of the Dan Wesson revolver... so... I made one.

First one to make fun of my southern accent get black-listed by LB who is from GA. I tried to do some name dropping and making an appearance is the grip made by LB for my wife.

Great video! Now I know for sure how snug the barrel should be with the feeler gauge, I never was sure I was getting it right. I love that LB grip Drool I gotta get me one...

Great video and very educational for the general public, you may have just hleped CZ sell some guns when they begin producing them again.  Most of the uneducated public has no idea of what dan Wesson really was and is

I would say 9 out 10 youtube videos found from a search on "dan wesson" are videos of BB-guns.  I am not a hater of BB-guns, but please... my DW is not a BB-gun. I only found one other video that discussed the gun. All the others were just people shooting them ( which is fine).

Thanks for the positive response. I am certainly not the best at verbal communications. I had to re-shoot as I just did not have enough light... and still didn't but it was all I had ( 2 lamps and the being right under the overhead light. The first time I mentioned this site by name, but I forgot to do so, the last time. I did make note of it in the description.

If anyone has something that they think should be added to the description let me know, and I can add it.

Excellent video, a link is now posted and pinned in the Gunsmithing Forum as well.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Great vid. Question, am i the only one who leaves the feeler gauge in when installing the nut? I just thought it would prevent the barrell from threading further into the frame beyond tolerance.

Vaquero, welcome to the forum. I leave the gage in sometimes but usually open the cylinder and press on the barrel with a finger to ensure that it doesn't turn while tightening the nut.

I do leave the gauge in, and work to have a gap that produces slight resistance to removing the gauge. Mine is a tight .006. You pretty comfortably go as tight as .002 if you always remember to check gap on all chambers, Monson cylinders were not all consistently flat/square to the bore axis.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I always leave the gauge in while tightening the nut, and sometimes have to play with it to keep it from binding.  This is important because I gap all of my Dan's at .002.  It would be less critical if you are gapping at .006.
