I recently saw in another member's post a Model 715 with a rear sight that was different than the usual DW rear sight.  It looked like a more conventional adjustable sight, not the usual DW target style with the large square blade at the extreme rear of the gun, overhanging the frame.  It looked more like a Ruger or S&W style in fact.  I was wondering who made it and if they will fit any small frame DW because I have always found the normal full on target sight to be a little bulky and snag prone.

Probably a Ruger Blackhawk rear sight, which also fits Dan Wesson Small Frame

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Nope, Model 715.  It's good to know about Blackhawk sights fitting the DW small frames.  I had a 715 once and sold it and have wished ever since that I had kept it.  I used to be really bad about getting "gottahavethenewistthingitis".

I also had a .44 Magnum but it had been worn out by a previous owner, I fixed it up and traded it off and don't miss it.  Given some of what I had to fix it had to have been used to shoot IHMSA every weekend for 10 years with overmax loads.

Thanks for the information.
