I own a very nice 15-2 Dan Wesson revolver, made in Monson circa 1980.  Can someone recommend a good rear sight for it?  I would preferably like to have my gunsmith put one with either Tritium or fiber optic dots on it such as a Williams sight.  Anyone know of a rear sight that would be suitable for this Dan?

Member Roadglide was considering putting a Williams Firesight on his last month - send him a PM and see how it worked out.  I believe the Super Redhawk should interchange.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

OK I got one.  Taking it to my Smith today.  I'll let you all know what happens.

Please do let us know how it works out....I'm anxious to hear. It should be a drop-in replacement with the original roll pin.

Hey Redleg - how about an update on how that firesight worked.  At $63 it could be a nice alternative to the high priced Millett in the aftermarket.  Fill us in!

Has anyone used this rear sight? I'm considering a purchase and would like to confirm that it is worth the price.

Thanks.

I used a Williams Fire Sight in a different application. The fiber optic function worked pretty well. My problem with it was the way the elevation function worked, it slid front to back (up and down) on an inclined rear mount rather than than being click adjustable. If the rear is straight up/down click adjustable, it might the the best adjustable fiber optic you will find.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
