I recently bought a 8" and a 6" 44mag barrel from czusa. They both have rough tool marks and pitting. I sent the 6" back. They replied we had multiple tecks look at it and could only find normal tool marks. There is actual small pitting in the lands. Is this normal? I bore scoped 3 other handguns including a dan wesson Kodiak and none had the pitting.

Hi, guys.
Well, this is news to me. Where did you find these barrel/shrouds? I used to go to shop.cz-usa.com/dw-products/revolver/barrels-shrouds and see what was there for my 15-2VH, but I waited too long and that site has been gone for a while now. Searching danwessonfirearms.com and danwessonfirearmstore.com only brings up 1911s. I had a guy there tell me they were all long gone. So I gave up on CZ having any. EWK used to have their "slab" stuff, but it's all gone. I somehow missed Numrich but just bought a 6" assbly for a small fortune. Same for a new 2.5" on Ebay. I'd love to find some new barrels only, or worst case, buy the whole setups. So again, what website has this stuff? Thanks in advance.

In addition to the link provided above. You can email Genny at DW who’s their sales/parts person and she’ll let you purchase over the phone. Genny@cz-usa.com

The few I’ve bought from CZ were fine. The others I bought direct from DW. I did have a 2.5" 44 mag assembly that had no markings on it to identify caliber etc. I had to ship it back to DW for them to laser engrave it.
But as far as finish, I’ve never had rust or pitting on all the SS assemblies I bought.
Give the bore a good scrubbing.

Thanks, gentlemen. That little /357-magnum.html makes all the difference. Without it, using the old link, you get The Wayback Machine. Now I'm feeling a little silly and a lil' bit pissed. As I said, a guy there told me they were all gone at least 2 years ago. *grrr*
All they have left in 15-2VH is an 8", but I'll be snagging one very soon. Does anyone know about future production? If not, I'll ask Genny. I believe the 15-2 was DW's most popular model, soo ... *grins*
Thanks again.

Some time back CZ had 6" SS .22 barrels on sale at a very good price. I bought 2 "just in case". Long after I bought them I tried fitting them to my blue .22 frame. The threads are just barely long enough to screw (with some pressure!) the barrel in to get to the .006 gap. Same problem with both barrels. There is also some rough tooling on both of the forcing cones. Such things happen some times. My original barrels are all pretty smooth. If I ever wear out the original blue barrel I will work on the SS ones.

They may have either found some or made a few more. I been wanting to get an 8" barrel for both our 715 and 44 magnum for some time but prices on eBay for barrels are really high. I checked CZ online and they had both 8" barrels in stock and I ordered them. Just yesterday they arrived and look great. I installed both but did not get a chance to shoot them yet. FYI: $375 each as I recall which is less than eBay for used.

Just contact Genny@cz-usa.com directly at Dan Wesson and you can order any 357, 44, or 22 barrels in either stainless or blued steel. They still manufacturer the barrels and shrouds to my knowledge. Blued barrels/shrouds take a little longer to order because they blue them out of house.

I ordered a spare stainless 8 inch 357 mag barrel tube from Genny yesterday. She said it would get shipped today. We’ll see. No rush as this is a backup. Starting to see some erosion on the forcing cone which is giving me flashbacks to https://www.danwessonforum.com/forum/revolvers/my-monson-715-barrel-and-frame-split-f/
