Good Morning Mike,
Actually Dan Wesson still makes several models of 1911's. It appears that's what CZ was after when they purchased DW. I have read on other forums that CZ is not interested in allowing someone else to produce revolvers under the Dan Wesson name which doesn't really make sense to me.
At least they are still providing parts and service for the DW Revolvers that are out there.

Parts means; all parts necessary to keep gun working. I just sent my model 40 in for a major tune up after talking with their service dept., and being asdsured that they have all the necessary parts for a complete rebuild, as well as qualified revolver smiths to do the work.

Jody - it has to do with quality control of the product and the name associated with it…if someone started to make crap DW revolvers - it would affect the name and sales of the DW autos.

Hey Photo,
I'm sure you are correct in your thinking... I really like my DW CBOB and from what I have read DW has a very loyal 1911 following. I just wish CZ would give them the resources to at least make revolvers through the custom shop!
Zoommb I to am guilty of day dreaming on more than one occasion about what it would be like to be in the revolver making business! I know I would enjoy doing something like that much more than writing some code or developing a database but these things pay the bills.

Jody:
I hear that. Two years ago our company was sold to a raider and I was downsized and forced into early retirement. No one is going to hire someone my age to crank out code when thay can get a kid out of school for 1/3 the price.
However, after looking for a while, I decided that maybe 30 some years of coding was enough. Now I don't know what I want to be when I grow up. It would nice to do something creative with quality I could be proud of. Oh well, something else will come along. Meantime I'm having fu with my hobbies.
Hello I worked for Dan Wesson in Ny When it was owned By Bob Serva and it was a real pleasure to work there when you can go to work and do something that you love it is Great, I really can't get over the fact that CZ does not want to manufacture the Revolvers they were by far the best Revolver ever made,
