Hello Everyone. I have just purchased my first Dan Wesson revolver. I understand that finding the production year from the serial number can be difficult. Is there a list of serial numbers that correlate with a manufacture date? Oh the revolver is a 357 model 15-2.  Thanks, Dave

dwf-welcome to dwf Dave!  You made a great purchase. Dan Wesson is the best revolver ever made. True, it can be difficult to get an exact manufacture date unless you buy from an original owner who still has all the paper. We can help you get a fairly close time frame. Post the number and leave off the last digit on open forum and list the place of Manufacture from the frame. There is also, a serial # registry on the right  => => down low. This helps us to fill in some holes. Did you get the barrel wrench and gap gauge with the purchase? If not you can find those on the right, there at EWK. You'll be needing them if you didn't receive them. It is truly a good idea to check out this link https://www.danwessonforum.com/forum/reloading/tuning-up-your-15-2-the-average-joe-method/ if you haven't come across it yet. A good cleaning, an check and adjustment of the barrel gap, a box of shells and an open range...

Btw, we all love cool-picsof Dan Wesson pistols. We all have a little sicknessdwas. Dan Wesson Acquisition Syndrome. Shooting, looking at all the photos of these handsome wheel guns and You'll soon be infected too... Welcome again and goodluck

Welcome to DWF!

If you need help with finding the "Born On" date for your 15-2, send me a PM. We have some very good history on 15-2 S/N's.

The advice from the Cecil's post to check out the Average Joe Tune Up provides the best DW Small Frame info you will ever find.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
