The frames on the Models 14 and 15 are stout looking items. But, does that smaller cylinder negate the size and strength of the frame? Would I be wise to stick to generic factory reloads...avoiding things like Buffalo Bore and Double Tap?
Thanks

I do not have any info on operating pressures, but Dan Wesson's were the gold standard for Silhouette, where outrageous hot loads are common. Of course any hot loads or heavy hand-loads should always be used with caution and watched for signs of excessive pressure. But I believe most of the guys here will say, and at least in my own opinion, a DW is as strong as any, and stronger than most.
Wisdom is merely the realization of how little one knows, therefore I am wise.

The differance is cast for Ruger and Forged for DW and S&W, and is why the S&W is such a light and smaller HG compared to Ruger. It gives both guns about the same strength but at different weights and cost factors.
