So I finally received my B-square mount for my Dan Wesson .357; and I was wondering what kind of scope should I get? I will mainly be using for target shooting and maybe start to hunt with it. I dont want to spend a crazy amount on a scope(some where in the $100 range), but I want it to last awhile and stand up to some abuse.

Dad went through a few scopes before he got a good one for his Dan Wesson 44. The good one is a Leupold M8 2x scope. At least one of the ones that turned to crap was a Weaver.

I would avoid Tasco, Bushnell, and especially Simmons. I would consider Leupold, Burris, Sightron. Might cost more than $100 to get a good scope, but you will have a good scope that will last, and you will only have to spend the money once (you shouldn't have to replace it).

JMO. Good luck to ya.

I have had real good luck with Bushnell scopes I have a Bushnell Trophy on my 445 Supermag it has been there about 15 years, and I shoot quite often, that is alot of recoil.

I think the new ones have a constant 18" eye relief.

They are a little more then your $100.00 range,

You could always get the Nikon 4 power for under $120.00 if that is all you have to spend.

My local gun shop always matches the lowest price I can find on the net, it does not hurt to ask. Find the lowest price and see.

appreciate the feedback; I've been checking out Midwayusa and they have a Simmons ProHunter Pistol Scope 2-6x 32mm for $126; and its gotten great reviews so I'm probably going to lean in that direction.  Its going to be nice when I finally get my .357 scoped!

thanks for the input!!

I strongly recommend against any Simmons scope. it might work okay for a while, but every Simmons scope that I have had turned to crap, and I have known lots of other guys who had the same thing happen to them. I think it will be money down the drain.

And that's all I can do... good luck to you whatever happens.

The best prices on any brand scope is here:

 http://www.opticsplanet.com/

I bought a cheap scope for my S&W 647 17HMR for $42 delivered, but will probably buy Leupold for my S&W 610 10MM this fall.
