I searched but came up with all kinds of unrelated threads.  For something different, I am wanting to add a scope to one of my VH shrouds.  What is available in the market nowadays that I can buy to mount a scope?  Now, what can I buy in Canada is another story....but I'll tackle that when/if needed.

Thanks

Ian

Here is a link to a discussion on scope mounts for our revolvers that's on this site. You should keep an eye out on eBay and Gunbroker they come up every so often.

Thanks for this - I'll look into being able to register on Gunbroker and I will look on the US eBay.

Welcome to the DWF, Raf.  I'm still hoping to find a mount/rings that I don't need to drill and tap, but that isn't seeming possible.  The scope is just for something different to shoot so I don't want the permanent holes in the shroud - we aren't allowed to carry or hunt with handguns up north here.

Zedbra - In the 80's I bought a B-Square “2 piece” mount (3rd photo in link above) which clamped down on the ribs, the rings screwed onto the top bar.  I couldn't get the clamps tight enough.  The clamps even started to warp allowing the scope to slide around.  It couldn't have been a good design because B-Square no longer makes the mount.

My solution was at already at-hand.  I owned two 8" heavy shrouded barrels.  So I had a gunsmith mount the Weigand mount to one of them.  I just swap back and forth between iron sights and scope.  The scope stays dead-on that way.

If I had to chose a clamp mount and I had one barrel I would recommend the Burris "rib clamp."  But you'll lose your zero each time you pull that scope off and remount it.

Person in Troy, MI offering these says he does not know if his product below works on the Wesson 715.

Says it's only for rifles.

I am wishing to mount one of my longer green lasers from Laser Manufact.  Wondering if it would stay on the top of that thin vent rib.  Hoping it doesn't do damge making it so tight on that thin top.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
