I have a DW 44 mag with the 8" ported barrel scoped. Scope mount is the B-Square clamp on. Question is if I remove the barrel with the scope mount still attached, then remount the barrel, does the scope keep it's zero close to where it was before? I have been shooting/hunting with my DW 44 but would like to take the shroud off to clean it as it is ported. Finally got a barrel wrench from EWK to do this task. I do not expect it to be exact but does it keep it's zero close? Did not want to try during the hunting season & risk loosing zero.
With factory 240 grn loads can do 1.5" at 70 yards. Cannot wait to try it with my Lee 310 grn powder coated loads to see where I can push it! Post hunting season it will be time for load development.

Yes it should be VERY close if not the same after reinstalling the barrel assembly. I've done this with my scoped 715 and 744 - though they both have a drilled and tapped DW scope base installed. Not a clamp-on.
If it were me, I'd spend the $100 or so and buy a new non-ported barrel from DW. That way you don't have to mess with cleaning it often.
Email Shawn at DW and he'll get one ordered you for ASAP. Shawn@cz-usa.com
