I know, coming in here asking "should I" is like showing up at a Jenny Craig convention with a pan pizza, but...

I went riding with my bro-in-law and brother and we stopped at a small gun shop in the next town over. He had a 715 Dan sitting there with Hogue grips. Had a 6-inch heavy barrel and looked in pretty good shape. I've got some DW15s and a 14, but I've always secretly pined for a 715.

This one locked up tight and I'm thinking of making the call when they open on Tuesday AM (not open on Monday). He came down to $480 + tax, tag and title. I'm thinking that was a pretty good deal. Thoughts?

I know you've not seen it, so it's all relative. But, if I do decide to get it, I'll be sure to make the appropriate introductions. It's an older Dan, with an SD serial. It seemed a little low, like 5 digits and a bunch of zeros in front of 'em. In the 90's?

I know, little info. But I didn't figure on seeing it and hadn't really prepared properly.  whipping

An SD number would be about 1982-1988

That one was so buy-now we might just have to put you on "Time Out" whippingfor sure if you miss out on it.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

TO THIS GUY!!!!!  occasion

It came with a set of Pachy Grippers (which I soon switched over to wood), a gun rug, the wrench and the .006" gauge for the barrel. Now to see how it does at the range! Serial is SD 00994X. Fairly early in production?

"Some " 15-2's , a 14 and now a 715. Sounds like a fairly serious case of DWAS. Let me help you. The only cure is to buy more periodically to relieve  the anxiety.  There is ebay, Gunbroker and some darn nut a little ways up interstate 75 in Ocala who has a BAD case of the syndrome. He and some fool from Ft. Myers  get together to gloat about our current "smart" purchases. It always helps to see someone worse off than you. PM me if you want to join our support group. That is a very nice 715 and a great price.  Buy the way, no tax, tag, and title in Florida.  Just tax and background check.

Thanks guys!

I've wanted a 715 for a while. Had a line on one, but it got away. This one will fill that void nicely. I wasn't really looking, but this one was there and the time was right. I stopped by my brother's on the way home and he told me, "I was going to give you till three, then I was going to call the LGS!"

The fever has passed for now, as I'm not as aggressive as I was in times past. BUT, I've got what I like, and I like what I've got. And Ol' Dog, tell me about this support group you've got goin on.  cool

1982, and that would make it early. Very nice looking gun and a great deal.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Wow, that's a great deal on a beautiful gun. Wish I could come across something like that.

Extremely nice gun! Well Done! The photo posted by rwsem is insanely beautiful! My 715's serial is SD0048** so it should be made around early 1982 also, right?

Took her to the range this past weekend. Had a great time with the bro-in-law. We all took turns shooting it. put a few holes in a 10-inch target at 50 yrds, so I'm okay with that. it'll shoot better than the shooter in my case!

Was a good experience and now, the safe is just that much more complete. big-grin
