Hello all,
Just a quick general question. I don't know much about Dan Wesson guns but my little brother recently found this revolver and is super jazzed about it. His coworker has a model 14 357 that has never been fired (well to his knowledge). It was passed down to him from a relative who passed away and has been sitting in a box for minimum 6 years. I know the current owner hasn't fired it seeing as he didn't know how to open the cylinder until we showed him last night. He would like to sell it for $300. Since most here are owners of at least one Wesson piece, I was hoping if you could tell me is this is a good buy or if I should just pass on it? Or should I ask for a lower price? Any pros/cons are more than welcome. Thanks in advance.

I would it buy it! 300 if it is an early (pork chop barrel shroud) even better. As said before send me contact info if you don't want it. A 14-2 will have a shroud that is not covering the full front of frame! either way it is a good deal!
Welcome and when you get it home log on and show that 6 shooter!!

Not to rain on anyone's parade but does the gun look like it has never been fired or only sparingly fired? Does it look to be in good shape? Is the lockup tight and the timing good? Do you have the tool to remove the barrel and have you removed the barrel? Is the bore bright and shiny with sharp rifling? Does the cylinder spin freely?
If it is in good shape, it is definitely a .
Even if it is rough shape the price isn't too far off. I paid $230 for my beater 14-1 (worn bluing, some rust and a dinged up grip) that needed a little work (cleaning, springs, ejector rod, stuck barrel).
It sounds like a buy now. Judge its condition and functioning and buy accordingly. Trust us, you will like it.
