Hi, I recently acquired a 22VH8 and was told it has never been fired(except at the factory). It came in a DW gun holder with original paper work and tools. My dilemma is whether or not I should shoot it or keep it the way it is. It is not my only DW, I also have a 15-2 in .357 with a 2 1/2, 6 and 8 inch barrels.I also had a .357 pistol pack which I regrettable sold.
What would you do? Thanks, Mike
I second shooting it; while as an unfired gun , it has some collectable value, they haven't got the prize value of S&W's or Colts. DW's have remained at a moderate price and will for the near future. If it were a factory engraved set; that's a different story, they've become more collectable due to limited production.
I hope so too! The only DW's that ever got complaints were the 22's. They're either as all the others; Tack drivers, or they shoot poorly. If it doesn't shoot great the 1'st time; try other brands of ammo, for some reason many guns have a particular ammo that they perform best with. As a handloader; I've used many powders and loads to find the best, unfortunately 22's aren't a reloadable item, but are cheap enough to shop around for the best for your gun. Don't go for the match stuff; as usually it's not worth the extra price.
