S I have a chance to buy a Monsun 375 Supermag new in box 8 inch slotted barrel blued original numbers matching box with tool and manual for $1575 shipped. Should I stay away from this caliber and stick with 445 and 357 Maximun supermags? I thought it was a good deal until I started looking for ammo and it seems it's not available. Should I move on and spend my $$$$ on other calibers? Thanks, Stan Update I added pics of the 375 I have already paid for the gun but the seller will give me credit I can buy this 357 Maximum 10 inch HV for $800 more ($2375 Shipped tax included) Pica are mixes up the first pic is the 357 Maximum!

Is there really two threads on this same gun??
If you have buyer's remorse on that one, I'll give you $.75 on the dollar for your remorse.
Okay, so the 375SM is a unique gun, and personally one of my faves. The round itself has mild recoil for being a SuperMag, but it hits REALLY hard. Other than the IHMSA cases pictured above, you can also use these...you just have to cut them down a bit & re-finesse.
30-30 Win cases are a little bit thinner (I've never had a problem with them), or cut down a 375WIN case, cut them to 1.600
The hard part these days is finding bullets, the bullet length is the hangup here, my favorites are these...
About the max grain you can use are 220GRN flat nose, to clear the front of the cylinder. But good luck finding Many of any these days.

I was going to bid on the 375 Brass on GB & the die set but i'm leaning on just selling the gun.So you are offering $1100?(thats about 75% of what I paid for it) I will have to think about that. It should be delivered to my FFL today. There is one almost exactly like it on GB bidding is at about $1000 3 days left that will give me a pretty good idea what it's worth. Of course I will have to take tax into account (The GB gun they will pay tax) for comparison. I think i'm more inclined to sell it because I just do not have the patience to reload. Most of my Dan Wessons are for collecting anyway. Stan Phoenix, AZ PS I also have a 357 Maxinum I will be selling. No box used Monsun 8 inch Slotted vent with some plum on frame (Barney?)

Honestly, I haven't tried Starline's 375 WIN brass, but I imagine it would perform much the same as Winchester 375 brass. I have been using both the variants I've pictured for...I dunno...12 years now? You just need to cut them down from a rifle size to a pistol size. Some naysayers say the 30-30 cases have been weak, maybe those guys have been loading them hot to give them issues. I dunno. I have reloaded my same 30-30 cases (just guessing) maybe 36 times now, and have never had an issue. They still look great every time I reload.
Anyway, I suppose if you load toward the hotter end of the spectrum, maybe stick with the 375WIN brass...if you load mostly middle-of-da-road, the 30-30 brass works just fine. AND may I say that loading middle 'o the road in 375SM in either brass still packs a smile-making WHUMP when it hits it's mark.

Stan, I can see that you are likely investing into DW's for their value. Nothing wrong with tangible assets! DW's are valuable today, and will only continue to appreciate, from what I can see. So unless you are buying one on your last dollar, just relax. It doesn't matter if you don't shoot it. If you buy one that you never fire, but just looks purty, and you simply enjoy looking at while it gains value over time, that's money well spent. I have probably a half dozen DW's I bought when prices were more reasonable a decade ago, that today have tripled in value...and I have never fired them. Some I blaze away every other weekend, and yet I know as long as I keep them tuned nicely, they will still hold their value for years to come.
If you decide to sell some, post them in the classifieds...me or someone will likely take you up on the offer.

Thanks. I did list 3 guns tonight that I do not need now that I bought these 8 new to me guns. I also have a Dan I use for shooting my 15-2HV pistol pac since it was already used. I am worried though that the 375 will keep going down in value but maybe i'm just worried about nothing it's still a NIB unfired gun with no plum. but as I look into finding ammo its impossible in less you reload and there are fewer and fewer people doing that. I would think they could make a lot of money if they put out new 375 ammo but must not be something that makes money or these special ammo company's would put them out like the 445SM and the 357 Maxinum which you can still buy! I put up a 357 Maxinum for sale and it's got a plum frame I don't know if $1300 is too high it's still in very good condition with 8" slotted barrel (Monson) I know I have the pistol pac priced right at $1800 and the 15-2V 4" at $700

I would love to have a lever carbine in .375 SuperMag !
Wow, me too!! That would be soo great. Maybe some manufacturer like Henry would be up to the task...in another dozen years~ish.
Thanks Ole Dog, I support your wise words as well. You have gained a plethora of knowledge regarding DW's from your many acquisitions...and your time spent here at Which I must say is the best way to gain first-hand knowledge of DW's in general.
Much the same for me...until I had actually held many of my DW's in my hand, many previous assumptions were instantly null & void. One day (about a decade ago) I posted that the Porkchop was "a face only a mother could love" and I specifically meant the exposed nut guns. Originally, I thought they looked hideoous...but a few months later I owned not one but three, due to a buy only an idiot would pass up! And once I held the first one, my entire opinion changed. Not only were they a face only a mother could love, but I was holding legitimate history in my hands! I'm reflecting on my two model 12 Pacs, which one I'm convinced the 1st has only been factory fired, the other maybe less than 20 or so. Those two guns are 2-digit guns, and were made during the first week or two of DW manufacturing in 1970...WOW! Holding history like that in my hands was really special...not to mention that they both smelled like an old musty library when I first got them. I have not fired either of those two, but I have twice blown them apart for cleaning & lube jobs. I have instead fired my 4-digit W12 I purchased the following week. That gun was likely made maybe a month~ish after the first two. I bought that one mainly to see what the first two would feel like to fire. Yeah, I dunno, that's me. Anyway I must describe it as simultaneously a bit both clunky, yet really cool with the short hammer fall & overall feel of the action. It's no 15-2...
My night table gun is a factory nickel model 14. With Wolff springs, dry firing brings a huge grin to the face. When uninitiated folks try it they are amazed. So slick and fast that it is over before it begins. The short hammer fall, Wolff springs and the nickeled inside frame and sideplate combine to make it truly unique. I suspect it is mostly the nickel because I have other pork chops with the Wolff springs and short hammer fall that don't come close.
