I have a 22 Dan Wesson, that I have had for quite a while, but haven't shot much. Well I just bought a 4" barrel this past wee, so I took it out to see how it shoots. Well at around 30 ft, it shoots about 3" high when placing the sights on the target. I tried to adjust the rear sight down, but it was already bottomed out. I can hold a little low an it groups good, but I would rather be able to hold right on the target. Any suggestions on how to correct this? Do they make a taller front sight?
Thanks

Hi,. There have been a few post on this same subject. A few things to try are
1. Try some different ammo, heavier, lighter, faster or slower
2. Adjusting the barrel to cylinder gap, more or less .002 to .006.
3. Replacing the front sight with taller sight. here is link to to parts and service thread

Blacktop,
Thanks for the info. I will play with the barrel gap and see what happens. It has been so long since I have shot it with the 8" barrel, that I don't remember, but with the 2-1/2" barrel, it was pretty close to being bottomed out. As for ammo, I will try some different loads, but I have never seen that big a difference between them in my other guns. I also have a TC Contender and a Ruger Mark II that I have shot quite a few rounds out of plus several different rifles. If I don't have success with adjusting the barrel or ammo, I will look at getting a higer front sight.
Thanks,
TC
