Hey guys, new member with a new DW small frame revolver from about '77 or so and made in Monson.
Forgive me if I don't describe this well- this is my first revolver. I've been having some issues with closing the cylinder on this DW- it seems that the extractor binds a little bit and stays ever so slightly protruding and then bangs the frame when you close. After some disassembly, cleaning, and lubrication I found the problem but am uncertain how to correct it.
If you completely remove the cylinder from the frame, then remove the extractor and look down at the face of the cylinder where the extractor was there is a little round part that looks like maybe its supposed to be press fit into the cylinder. This part is round with a keyed hole for the extractor, and then has a groove like that of a flat head screw, and a small dot or dimple which I assume is an alignment pin to keep everything aligned properly. Spring pressure from the extractor assembly is pushing against this piece causing it to pop out a bit, and as such when the extractor reseats it sits properly against this small round piece, but not fully inside the cylinder.
Is it supposed to do this? I assume not. Is it something easily fixed or does it need to go back to DW/CZ?

Hmmm I've never run into that before. It's been a few months since I disassembled my 715 so I can't recall that particular part? Got any pics?
Maybe fire off an email to Bob at DW (lead revolversmith)? Bob@cz-usa.com
Also are you from MA? I see a member on the northeastshooters forum with the same username.

Fired a message off to bob, he said that bushing shouldn't move and gave me some suggestions- if they dont work its gotta go back for repair.
And for better or worse, yup that's me on NES.

Nice. You’re in good hands with Bob. He can fix anything, just a matter of money of course.
