I have a 715 with a 2.5 barrel. Right now it has the large checkered wooden grip from DW. It made sense when i had the 6inch barrel but now I want a small rubber grip to make the gun easier to carry. All the hogue grips seem to be the same size. Is it small enough to carry easily? thanks

There is a dirth of good compact grips for Dan Wessons.
I suspect that 95%+ of all Dan Wesson pistol pack owners NEVER use the snubbie barrel, nor do they EVER CCW their DWs.
The Pachmayr Compac is probably most in line with what you're looking for (but Pachmayr doesn't make them anymore and they are hard to find used).
This guy modified a set of wood target stocks to be similar to the Compac.
I put a set of Dan Wesson compact grips on my 14-2 (found a nice used set on Gunbroker)
My initial plan was to modify the target grips that came on mine.
But instead figured it would be best to keep the target grips unmolseted just in case I ever pick up a longer barrel (or end up with another DW … which I understand is one of the unavoidable side effects of buying just one of these guys).
Eventually the plan is to modify a set of Tyler T-Grips to fit with the compact grips I have on the gun (but I haven't had a chance to shoot this guy since I got the new grips on … the T-Grip may be unnecessary).
I found this pic that appears to be from an April 2006 Ebay listing … if you could find those grips they would be about perfect.

I wonder if one was just to mash a bunch of Mighty Putty around the grip tang if that would work for a fully custom CCW grip.
Although I suspect it dries more like a ceramic ... I wonder if there's something like it but dries more rubbery.
