I haven't been to a gun show in a LONG time, nor have I bought many Dan's in the last few years, my DWAS was in remission. So I went to a big local show looking for a 6V BA for a friend of mine. I didn't see any BA's that would work for him but I did see a few Dan's. About 4 15-2's ranging in price from acceptable to ARE YOU CRAZY. There was the 41 VH8 that I've seen for at least the last three years, still priced at a FIRM $999, and it's getting rustier every time I see it. I was about to leave when I realized I had missed a row so I did a quick run down that isle on my way to the door. I spot a 15-2 non vent 8 with a smooth grip and also a 4 inch non vent BA. Everything looks great and gun locks up nice and tight, bluing is beautiful and gun is an early 15-2 with a 59xxx serial number and serrated hammer. He told me the price which was quite frankly cheap, but I haggled with him to try to get a better deal. He said that there was some 'stuff' in a bag that he 'thought' was for the gun but couldn't remember. The bag had an old school barrel tool and a later style plastic tool, said he'd throw that in with the gun. I said great. As I'm doing the paper work he says, the guy that traded this had it in an old 'make up case' and if I wanted it to carry the gun out of the show I could have it. He gets the 'make up case' out of a box on the floor and it is a dirty, brown mini pac case missing the fabric but with a Crown Royal bag in it and a couple lead removal cloths, some target spots and and a few old socks. I gathered up the 'stuff' and left with the lot. I got to my truck and pulled out the Crown Royal bag and in it was a set of Pachmyr grippers. Under the foam was a very nice old style brass belt buckle! I brought everything home and replaced the fabric with some I had and cleaned about 20 years worth of dirt off the case and gave it a wipe with some vinyl/leather conditioner and I have a sweet 15-2 mini pac, missing only a patch which I think I have a few around some place. The seller didn't know much about Dan's and really didn't know what he had, which was good for me because if he'd have put that package together properly, it would have been sold long before I ever saw it.
