How about when it is called a High Standard Sentinel MkIII .357 Magnum Revolver? Nah, still a Dan Wesson:
The frame is turning a nice plum color. I just got this today; 3-3/4" barrel; the "factory" box is marked Dan Wesson and inside the box was a repair ticket for work by Dan Wesson (early 1990s) and a Dan Wesson owner's manual.

Very cool, I like the Sentinels. You say the original box is marked Dan Wesson? That is interesting, could we see a couple pics of the box? I have not yet seen an original box for a HS Sentinel .357.

Same here, I haven't seen an original MK II or III box yet. I'd like to see some box pics too.
Congrats on landing your MK III, they are great guns! Here's a shot of mine wearing a 6" barrel...

Here are some photos that I took of the box. Both the repair ticket number and gun serial number are written on the end of the box in marker; I suspect it isn't the original box the gun came in from the gun shop but a box that Dan Wesson used when the gun came in for repair. As you can see the box is molded for different lengths of barrels (look at the front sight molding).

Yep I am sure that box was used to send the gun to its owner after the repairs. Still a very cool box to have, and the repair sheet from the Palmer plant too, very interesting pieces from the gun's history to keep with it.
Thanks for posting the pics, even though it is not the original HS box, it is still interesting to me

Greetings
That is a nice looking typical DW no matter what company name they made it for. Same hands at DW selected parts and buffed and assembled the trigger. Barrel was drawn from a bin, shroud slipped on and a barrel nut picked up from a batch of probably a thousand.
Nice find !

Thanks for posting the photos!
I agree that the box is not original to the gun. I assume the owner shipped it to DW without a satisfactory box & that a DW gunsmith simply used it to return it to the owner to insure it would arrive damage free.
Looking at the work order, it's interesting that they list the model as W12, but clearly have the HS serial number shown. I wonder why they didn't list it as a Sentinel? Regardless, that's a pretty cool piece of the gun's history.
