The prices of DW's have been steadily going up anyway. I think the secret got out some place. I personally am looking forward to getting one of the new 715's. If current QC on their 1911's is any sign of what's to come on the 715 then the new one will be way better than the best of the old ones. (I hope I don't get lynched for that) I do think CZ has really dropped the ball on the whole subject of revolvers and they continue to do so. They need to get one to the gun rags to start up the propaganda machine for some DW revolver love and they better do it soon, or they might as well not do it at all.

If and when the new 715's hit the market, and people buy them, own them for a while, and sell them once they realize that they paid way too much, MAYBE then I'll buy a used one.
BTW-I fully acknowledge that I am grumpy and crabby about the way this whole new Dan Wesson has played out. The only "new" Dan Wesson I am less likely to buy than the 715 is a 1911. There is too much bang for the buck value out there in the marketplace in other than DW 1911's and .357's for me to buy one. I genuinely and heartily applaud the willingness that many of you have to keep the brand alive and moving forward, unfortunately I can't afford $1000+ guns. Lately, I don't shoot the ones I have enough, future dollars need to go for ammunition, and eventually reloading equipment.
Sorry if I am being confrontational, it's not intentional.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Your not confrontational, just standing up and expressing your opinion.
Just remember the old saying here about opinions guys.......opinions are like a...... and everyone has one.

Any time now. . .
I do hope they are not going to let us down. If they are a quality gun and the actual street price is more reasonable than the MSRP I will probably buy one. I won't have a new Smith and Wesson, Ruger's are too heavy and clunky and I want the interchangable barrels and sweet SA trigger.
So, CZ, get off the stick.

I thought about selling my like new '87 (IIRC) made 715 V8 and buying the new one, but the special order 1911 RZ10 Bobtail was enough to help talk me out of that idea.

Can't believe a few are not atleast in the hands of a few gun writer's.
Heck they ought to just give one to Jody for keeping the dream alive.
This site has sent lots people who have spent lots of dollars
through the CZ/DW shop. Who better to give a DW review than the
"Man" himself.

Here's my take:
1) Give Jody one? Maybe when Hell Freezes Over.
2) Give any REAL recognition to the heritage of Dan Wesson revolvers? See #1.
3) Care at all about the people that help "The Legend Live On"? See #1. (BTW, I'm the guy who created "The Legend Lives On" that you see on the DWF Header)
4) How much does CZ (not to confused with Keith, and all the great people in Norwich) really care about DW revolvers? See #1.
5) When will I buy a CZ/Dan Wesson revolver? See #1
I freely admit, I'm the GOB (Grumpy Old Bastard), but I don't care.

I think everyone has the same mindset. They should have produced something with more apeel. Some Super Mags with maybe a VHS shroud. Did Norwich ever make those? Dare I say it.......... perhaps a 500 Super Mag and show up S&W.

I guess you'll have to be happy with a VH6, not sure about a VHS tape however.

I guess I am the odd man out here, I had a 715 and a 44 and I consider the DW .357 Magnums very nearly the ideal revolver. My .44 was too heavy and bulky but the .357 is nearly perfect in size and weight. I would not be interested in an exotic eardrum destroyer but a top notch .357 for informal target shooting and all round use will get the AMEX out in a heart beat. I consider the Dan Wesson 15 and 715 in between the Pre Lock S&W model 27 and the Colt Python in desirability so the MSRP doesn't really scare me that much.
Of course I have a theory that a revolver should weigh one ounce for every caliber, rounded to 2 places. 22 oz, 36 oz and 44 oz for the three main calibers. Again, the DW is nearly perfect, especially with the half lug barrel.
We'll see what CZ does.

For that (and many other killer ideas), may you always wear the crown as the "Idea Man" of the
Blacktop...LOL!!
For any other newcomers to this subject, the "new 715" wave has hit it's crescendo & has surely fallen. If CZ/DW ever actually builds any new 715's for sale, I'll eat my (straw) hat. This was merely a big "told-ya-so" from CZ, by dangling carrot in front of the faces of the true DW revolver fans out there...mainly the loudmouths here at the. The eventual "told-ya-so" was to finally squelch the voices of the DW revolver aficionado's out there, by unveiling the "new DW revolver" of 2011...however, not in something truly heart palpitating like a 445 SuperMag (etc.), but in a lackluster .357 Magnum. Big woop.
Then they flung out the sticker price at $1200 & not even with real prototype pics, merely some bad computer graphics renderings. The first ever pics I saw of an actual gun was months later, from this post by forum member Harly...the 2011 SHOT show. I haven't seen one since, and don't expect to see one either.
Give it another year, then ask if CZ will sell their one & only prototype. THAT may be worth the investment, but only time will tell. I'd bet this gun is currently being used as a paperweight on someone's desk.

Breaking news! New 715 Found!
It's in the same forgotten file drawer as our DWF Letter to CZ regarding the hoped for re-introduction of the Dan Wesson Revolver.
Sorry to get your hopes up, but the name on that file drawer refers to "someplace very hot freezing over"
