You don't see very many standard 8″ shrouds. Not a bad look but agree this one is a little rough. I'm sure HotBluer could bring this one back to life or a nice nickel job would be cool.
Do many people nickel plate a DW? I don't think I've ever seen one, then I've only been into these for about 4 months.

Funny that you would ask...

Also check the banner for a couple immaculate Nickel plateds...
Dan's look pretty good with a little shiny!

I've got one in process right now-hopefully done in less than 2 weeks. I was inspired by Dusty's "Nick"
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

If I were to want to nickel plate a gun where do you have it done. I imagine it has to disassembled? I live near Allentown, PA in case anyone knows who might do this in Eastern PA.
Thanks

My gunsmith said he would disassemble my revolver and send out the parts to be plated (I'm having my hammer, trigger, rear sight, ejector rod left blued). He will do any polishing and clean up needed before it goes for plating, and my understanding is that the surface needs to be very smooth for bright nickel. When the parts return, he will refit the internals. The plating adds enought thickness that some fitting may be needed, and I supplied him with a new spring kit for reassembly.
The estimated cost is $300, but remember that he is local for me, so I have no shipping to/from him. If this works out well, I'm going to try and get him locked in to a standard price for DWF members, at least one guy here is already chomping at the bit, and there are not a lot of places that will take this on.
More soon, I hope
