I have 722, 715 and 744 with scoped VH8 barrel's and non-scoped VH6 barrels, and was just wondering how the guns stay so accurate after switching barrels to non-scoped barrels then put scoped barrels back on and not have to sight the scopes in again.
Are these guns threaded with that kind of accuracy and precision? Am I not sighting them in that close to start with? Or maybe just lucky?
It is funny that I am just now wondering about this after all these years.

Well I never had much of a deviation in bullet impact, except time I had not fully tightened the barrel nut on the changeover. Have done that several times, getting old is not for faint hearted.
Not sure what a BA is, but I guess and say barrel assembly.

While that is true with standard sights, fact is the scope is entirely on the BA. It could be upside down and would still be zeroed to the BA.
I think you're right. When you're switching barrels & using the iron sights, there is a good chance that the front sight is gonna end up in a slightly different position once you tighten the BA on, when looking through the rear sight to the front.
But with the scope mounted on the shroud, your whole sight picture is only depending on the shroud. The barrel's position inside the shroud should always be the same & not vary, so it stands to reason that the scope should always be zeroed.
